I watched the boys and girl with curiosity as they slowly made their way through the crank infested room towards me. I try to hold back a laugh as one of them gave a hard glare to a crank that tried to bite them.

They were all quite different in how they looked and no two had many of the same features. The boy at the front appeared to be Asian and had black hair, but despite the storm outside, it appeared to be perfect and had stayed in place well. He was quite tall and appeared like he could be the leader of the group as he seemed to walk with confidence and purpose. The others ... not so much.

Behind him was the girl who looked strangely out of place surrounded by all the boys. She had long, dark hair that seemed to be quite knotted yet still looked presentable enough. She however, looked scared out of her mind, giving cautious glances towards all the cranks, stopping in her tracks or moving back if she thought she was gonna be touched, which resulted in her bumping into the boy behind her a lot, though he didn't seem to mind.

He had his eyes fixed on Brenda who was quite a bit in front of them. He had brown hair too but it looked messy and out of place. He didn't walk with the same sort of confidence as the first boy however he didn't seem to be scared. He seemed more curious. Like he had a million questions he wanted to ask but he couldn't think of any that would put him at ease.

Behind him was another boy with darker skin who stood tall and not phased by the cranks around him. He too seemed like he had a ton of questions but from the expression on his face, I could tell he was upset. Maybe someone he knew had become a crank and he was just being reminded of how terrible it is?

Then behind him, was a boy who's face was quite unreadable. Despite the other girl being in the group, he seemed to look the most out of place there almost as if he wasn't fully comfortable around them.

Lastly was a tall boy with dirty blond hair, he had a tall lean figure, quite a bit taller than me. He didn't seem too phased by the cranks around him and seemed more focused on the people who hadn't lost their minds, constantly looking up the row of them making sure they were all ok. The closer he came towards me, the more I thought I recognised him, though I have seen a few people in my life so far so he most likely looks similar to someone else I've seen. However, I can't seem to take my eyes off him. That is until he looked over at me and caught me staring. I looked away immediately, so fast I thought I would get whiplash, but from the corner of my eye, I swear I could see him smiling at me.

As they get through the door, I wait to go at the back of them with Mollie by my side so I can make sure none of them go off or get lost behind us. Once their through, I shut the door and lock it again making sure if won't open if any cranks break free.

As I turn around, I'm face to face with the blond boy and I can see now he has chocolate brown eyes. A hint of recognition hits me, like a memory, but just as fast as it came its gone again. Part of me thinks he experienced it too by the way his face changes, but again just as his face changed it changed back and he was staring at me again.

"I'm Newt" the boy says in a British accent. The more I learn about this boy the more I feel like I know him, like there is a memory in my brain being blocked off by a wall and one particular detail is gonna break that wall down and show me a whole new life. As I break away from my thoughts, I realise Brenda already led everyone up the stairs except me, Newt and Mollie.

"I'm Y/n, we're behind" I say as I make my way past him picking up Mollie as I do.

"Follow me"

I hope anyone reading this is enjoying it and I hope there isn't too many mistakes.
Also sorry is I change the tense it is written in. I've never been very good when it comes to tenses and what person it is written in so apologies about that.
