The Big Day

The night before the first day of school, Ezra stayed up late talking with Kanan, Sabine, Zeb, Hera, and Chopper over his communicator.

"So...are you excited for school, Dash?" Sabine asked.
"Not really. I'm going to school with a bunch of pro-imperials!" Ezra replied.
"Well, we'll be in touch. Look in that book," Kanan said.

Ezra walked over to his table and grabbed the book. He opened it and laid it out in his bed.

"What did you put in it?" Ezra asked as he rummaged through his things.
"There's an ear piece that will go with your microphone. Your microphone will enable you to talk to us and for us to hear your surroundings," Kanan replied. "That ear piece will help you hear us. This way, we'll always be in touch! Go ahead, put it on."

Ezra grabbed the black ear piece and placed it in his ear.

"Isn't this piece a bit...noticeable?" Ezra inquired.
"A little, but Hera and I made sure that you were allowed to wear it. We call it the discipline device," Kanan replied.
"Um...you're the only one who calls it that," Hera said.
"Why is it called the discipline device?" Ezra asked.
"Because of this!" Zeb smirked, as he pressed a button.

Suddenly, Ezra leaped off his bed after being subjected to a loud ear-bleeding screech. He was in complete shock.

"Don't do that!" Ezra said.

Suddenly there was a knock on Ezra's door.

"Hey, Dash, are you alright?" Xenon asked. "I heard you shout."
"Yea, yea! I'm fine, Xenon!" Ezra replied as The Ghost crew remained silent.
"Alright. I'll meet you out here in the common room tomorrow morning with Kazi!" Xenon said.

Ezra relaxed and returned to his attention to The Ghost crew.

"Who's Xenon and Kazi?" Sabine asked.
"They're two of my friends. Y'know, one of them is actually the little brother of my friend Zare Leonis from the imperial base," Ezra replied.
"That's cool! Well, good luck tomorrow, Lazaro," Sabine smiled.
"Thanks," Ezra said.

The crew signed off and Ezra re-packed his things.

"Ah!" Ezra screamed as another screeching noise penetrated his ear.
"Dash?" He heard Xenon shouted.
"I'm fine!" Ezra shouted back.

Ezra grabbed his microphone and held it up to his mouth.

"Zeb, don't do that!" Ezra silently and angrily screamed.

He could hear Zeb and Chopper laughing in the background, and then Kanan shouting their names. Ezra shook his head and took the ear piece out. He was going to bed.

Suddenly, the sound of trumpets blasted through the hallways of the boarders' rooms. All the boys fell out of their beds and rushed to get changed. Ezra met Kazi and Xenon out in the common room and the boys raced out to the cafeteria. As they entered the cafeteria, they noticed there were some day students eating breakfast. Ezra followed Xenon as they went through the line of the cafeteria.

"Are you not hungry, Dash?" Xenon asked as they sat down.

He had noticed Ezra had only gotten two yogans.

"Um...yea," Ezra said lost in thought.

However, Ezra was listening to commands Kanan was telling him through the "discipline device". Ezra ate the two yogans lost in thought of listening to Kanan.

"Don't forget, if anyone asks where you're from, say Lothal. If they ask who your parents are, say you live with your uncle, Felix and aunt, Ira Lazaro," Kanan continued to babble through his comm.
"I got it!" Ezra loudly and angrily whispered to Kanan through his mic.
"Got what?" Xenon asked.
"Uh...nothing," Ezra replied.
"You've been acting strange...are you feeling okay?" Xenon inquired, looking at Ezra.
"Yea. I'm fine. Just a little homesick," Ezra lied.
