Chapter 4

Chapter 4 : Like the colors in autumn so bright, just before they lose it all.

I sit on my bed, my hands trembling. 

How could Paul cheat on me? 

How could he hurt me like this? 

Jane rubs my back and sighs.

"I must go feed but I will be back."Jane says. 

I nod and she leaves. I lay back on the bed and start to cry. 

I hear the muffled screams of the innocent lives being taken. I will be there soon enough. 

Killing. 

Drinking. 

Living. 

I sigh and get up. I go and take a shower. I let the hot water drift me away from my pain. I feel... numb. 

I feel like pain isn't with me anymore. 

The hole Paul has caused on my heart is gone in the blink of an eye, just like it was never there. 

I nearly fall asleep but I am able to keep myself awake.

I think I'm finally okay and stable but when I turn off the water, I'm transported back to hurt. 

I nearly start to yell when I turn off the water because the impact of hurt is so great. 

I am able to pull myself together enough to look into the foggy mirror. 

It beholds a girl who has been broken, battered, and bruised but she is still alive.  

I sigh before changing into a black v neck, some black skinny jeans, and some red converse I found. 

I put on my motorcycle jacket before leaving the bathroom. 

I grab my phone and look through my photos. I see at least fifty photos of Paul and I. 

I start to cry all over again.

"Angel?"I hear someone say. 

I turn, expecting to see Jane. 

But instead I see Alec.

"Alec. What're you doing here?"I ask.

"Jane had to go do something but she sent me here to take care of you."Alec says. 

I nod before looking back down at my phone. Alec looks over my shoulder at the picture of Paul and I kissing.

"He doesn't deserve someone like you."Alec says, talking about Paul. 

My cheeks turn like the colors in autumn so bright, just before they lose it all.

"Thanks."I say. 

He kisses my cheek and I smile before he heads to the door.

"Where are you going?"I ask.

"Aro needs to talk to me. I will be back in awhile."Alec smiles before leaving. 

I sigh and fall back onto the bed. 

"What. Just. Happened?"I ask myself. 

"You and Alec were talking and he said, 'He doesn't deserve you.'"Demitri says as he and Felix come into the room. 

I arch an eyebrow.

"You were eavesdropping?"I question.

"It's not that hard with our hearing."Felix says. 

I roll my eyes.

"Vampires."I mutter.

"We heard that."Demitri says.

"It was meant for you two to hear."I say. 

They roll their eyes. 

"Aro requested that we give you this."Felix says handing me a box. 

I take it from him and open it. It's a necklace with the Volturi pendant on it. 

I look up at Felix and Demitri to see their both wearing the same necklace. 

I smile before taking the necklace out of the box and handing it to Demitri.

"Will you put it on me?"I ask. 

He nods before I turn around and he puts the necklace on me.

I smile.

"Thanks."I say. 

"Is there anything you need before we go?"Felix asks. 

I shake my head no before they smile and start to leave. 

"Where are you going?"I ask.

"There's a newborn situation in Greece we must resolve with Jane and Alec."Felix tells me.

"When will you all be back?"I ask.

"Soon."Demitri says before they leave. 

I sigh and lay back on the bed. What a day. I grab my phone and delete every photo of Paul. 

Every text from Paul. 

Every little thing to do with Paul. 

I have to get him out of my mind before becoming a vampire. 

Because I could very well go rip his throat out if I keep evidence of him being so very prominent in my human life. 

I smile before erasing his name out of the letters I had received. 

After everything to do with Paul is destroyed, I sigh. 

Thank God I won't have the texts and the photos and the letters of him to be shoved down my throat. 

I change into a pair of pj's before crawling under the covers. 

"Please just come back to me."I whisper, thinking of the one's who have just gone to the newborn situation in Greece. 

I lay my head down and think for a few minutes. What gift will I possess after I'm turned? 

I know I'll have one because of Aro telling me so. That's the only reason he wants to keep me here. 

If I didn't possess a power, he might've killed me. But my mate is here so he might not have killed me. 

After thinking for about an hour and a half, I finally fall asleep.
