Chapter 18 : Tell myself, it’s time now gotta let go

“I choose…”I trail off, the words lodged in my throat.

I take an unneeded gasp of air before speaking.

I look at my family.

“I love you guys.”I hug them.

They hug back before I walk to Alec, who gives me a hug. I look back at everyone.

He puts my Volturi necklace back around my neck before I smile and kiss him, not caring about everyone watching.

I pull away, before letting my gaze drift to the Cullen’s. I tell myself, it’s time now gotta let go.

But it’s hard. We soon leave after I say goodbye to them.

We're gone, off to Volterra to spend the rest of forever.

When we get there, I go to my room to see it’s exactly the way I left it.

I sit on my bed before realizing, I’ll never sleep on it again. I look up as Alec comes in.

“Hi.”I say.

“Hey.”He says.

“‘Hey’? When did you start saying actual teenager words.”I laugh.

He rolls his eyes in a playful way before sitting down by me. He puts his arm around me before kissing my forehead.

“I’ve missed you, my darling.”He murmurs.

I can’t help but smile as he says this. I look up and lean in, before our lips touch.

I smile into our kiss before he leans me down on the bed. I look up at him before he starts to undress me.

I do the same before we make love for the first time in what seems like forever.

I lay in my bed with Alec, the covers wrapped around our bare bodies. I smile, not needing gasps of breath or anything a human needs.

I look up at Alec to see he’s smiling as well.

“You sure we’re holding back before.”I comment.

“I know. That’s because you were so fragile back then. But now, you’re stronger than me, my little newborn.”He says before kissing my nose.

I smile before sighing.

“We have all the time in the world to do this over and over and over.”I tell him.

“That’s why I’m so happy. Because I can spend forever with you and I can do whatever I want with you and not be afraid of breaking you.”He says.

I nod.

“I just have to not break you.”I kiss his nose before getting up, wrapping the covers around me.

I change into a pair of jeans, a shirt, my Volturi necklace, and my jacket before I look at Alec, who is still laying in the bed.

I smile as I realize this is my destiny. And I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I stand in the throne room, with Alec clutching my hand.

Aro, Caius, Marcus, Jane, Alec, and I are waiting for Heidi, Demitri, Felix, and the rest of the guard to get here for some reason.

Everyone finally comes in before Alec and Aro smile. Alec pulls me into the middle of the throne room and everyone else.

I give him a confused look.

“What’re you doing?”I ask.

He smirks before getting down on one knee, pulling a small box out of his coat pocket.

“I know that we have forever together but I want to call you mine in another way. Angel, will you please do me the extraordinary honor of becoming my wife?”
