Chapter 9

Chapter 9 : Touching him was like realizing all you ever wanted was right there in front of you.

Alec and I don't separate for at least a minute. Once he pulls away, I gasp for air. 

Darn my need to breath. He gives me a look before he wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me inside his room. 

"Why the hell did you just do that?"He asks, slightly mad. 

"So, you didn't like it?"I ask. 

"I.... We're not talking about me! We're talking about you!"He growls. 

"You liked it."I smirk. 

"Maybe I did, but that still doesn't explain why you did it."He says. 

"I did it because I like you. You like me. Why hide it?"I make my point. 

He rolls his eyes. 

"Who said I liked you?"He questions. 

"Oh please! I'm your blood singer, of course you like me!"I say. 

He sighs and looks me in the eye. 

"It's not gonna work out."He says. 

"But can't we try?"I ask, putting on my best sad face. 

He sighs and nods slowly. 

"Fine. But if something happens, we're going to stop being together until you're changed."He tells me. 

I smile and kiss him again. 

"Thank you."I murmur against his cold lips. 

He smiles as we continue to kiss. He pulls away and rests his forehead against mine. 

"Yes!"I hear Jane say. 

We turn and see she was watching the whole thing. 

"Jane!"I groan. 

She laughs. 

"Be safe."She says leaving. 

I roll my eyes as Alec and I leave his room, fingers intertwined. 

"Ah, there's Anglec!"We hear someone say.

We turn and see Felix and Demitri. 

"Anglec?"I question. 

"Angel plus Alec equals Anglec."Demitri smiles. 

Alec and I roll our eyes. 

"Whatever you say, guys."I say before we go to the throne room. 

Aro smiles as he see's mine and Alec's hands. 

"There's the happy couple."He chuckles to himself. 

"Aro, still as crazy as ever."I laugh before Alec puts his hand over my mouth. 

"Alec, it's okay. She was just kidding."Aro laughs.

Alec slowly takes his hand away from my mouth. 

"Angel, would you do me the honor?"Aro questions as he holds out his hand for me to take. 

I start to go for his hand but Alec pulls me back. 

"Alec, I won't hurt her."Aro smiles at Alec's protective and loving gesture. 

Alec walks with me to Aro's hand, and even after I take Aro's hand, Alec still clutches my other one. 

I smile at Alec as Aro goes through my thoughts and memories. Aro smiles and lets my hand go. 

He takes one of Alec's hands and after he lets Alec's hand go, he smiles even more. 

"It seems Alec is in love with Angel. About as much as she is with him."Aro says. 

Caius rolls his eyes and Marcus bares a small smile. 

"Angel, you shall be changed next week."Aro says.

"What? But I thought she had a month!"Alec growls. 

"It's been close to a month. Besides, you can't wait to have her as a vampire."Aro smiles. 

Alec finally agrees before we're allowed to leave. 

"I'm so sorry, Angel."Alec whispers. 

"Why? None of this is your fault."I say. 

"It feels like it."He whispers. 

I kiss him, wrapping my arms around his neck. 

I realize that touching him him was like realizing all you ever wanted was right there in front of you. 

And he is all I ever want. 

I just hope he feels the same way.
