Where has my city gone?

It took some time, and a few questionable drivers, but I was home,  finally back in Chicago, and I knew the first place I was going to go. I knocked on the door of the apartment I used to share with Lukas, my breathing hitched, my pulse raced as I waited for that door to open. Then it did, and I saw the last thing I was expecting, a woman, a beautiful tall, annoyed looking woman, "May I help you?" She asked. I took a deep breath and said, "Who are you? Does Lukas still live here?" "Uh yeah, he's working, won't be home for awhile, I'm his girlfriend, I live here." she said snootily. I stopped breathing. He had a girlfriend, how had he moved on when all I could think about was him, it had never occurred to me that he could have forgotten me. I needed to leave, I needed to go somewhere do something, be anywhere but there. So I ran, I didn't know where I was going, I didn't want to. I just needed to not think. When I was with the government when I didn't want to think I would fight. I needed to fight, I needed the release, the simplicity, the rush of a good fight. So I searched, crime was never hard to come by when I lived here, so I wasn't surprised when I came across some scumbag trying to force himself on a woman. "Hello there, what is you two are up to?" I asked with a pleasant smile on my face. "Back off short stuff," Scumbag sneered at me. "Are you okay miss? I asked the terrified woman crouching against the wall, she nodded. "Get out of here, I'll take care of this douche." She took my advice and scurried away. I raised my hand and smacked him across the face, causing him to lose his balance and fall over, though from the smell of him I'd bet it probably would have happened pretty soon anyway. He seemed pretty pissed when he got up, which he proved by attempting to sock me in the face, I easily dodged of course, and shoved him against the wall. "Bitch!" He spat fast as lightning pulled out a gun and shot me. That of course pissed me off, so I lightly shoved him against the wall, grabbed his gun, and bent it, tossing it to the side I said, "What makes you think you can take advantage of helpless young girls huh?" I said twisting his arm behind him. "The bitch had it coming," He panted out, a sadistic smirk on his face, "wearing such a low cut top and short skirt, she was asking for it." I broke his wrist, he was lucky it wasn't his neck, because I was seriously considering it. It was scum like him that made me lose faith in the human race. The man collapsed on the ground in agony clutching his broken wrist, baby. I had broken my back once, a wrist was nothing. Suddenly I heard voices, and not just any voices, these were two I would never forget, I dived behind a dumpster as Lukas and my brother rounded the corner. "I got a report of shots fired from this area," Jackson said looking around, "There, I see a gun." He walked over to where I had tossed the destroyed weapon. "Lukas check this out," he showed him the gun, which I had folded in half like it was a piece of paper. "Jeez, how the hell did that happen? I've never seen anything like it." Lukas said in awe, it was then he noticed the man huddled on the ground in agony. "Jackson, over here, looks like we got a witness." Lukas said. "Hey are you okay sir?" Jackson questioned. "What does it look like, I think she broke it, that bitch broke my wrist!" Scumbag shouted in agony. "Who, who broke your wrist? and what happened to this gun?" Lukas asked him. "It was crazy, I was out here, minding my own business, with my lady friend," the dirtbag had the nerve to wink before he went on, "When this bitch came out of nowhere, scared off my girl, then started attacking me for no reason, and she was strong, crazy strong. I pulled out my gun, in self defence of course, I shot her in the leg, and she acted like I had hit her with a baseball of something, not a bullet, then she did that to my gun," he gestured to the destroyed firearm. Lukas and my brother looked at each other and appeared to be trying not to laugh, alright, can you describe this super girl?" Jackson asked. Dirtbag appeared not to notice their lack of belief in his story and said, "She was short, like five foot nothing, she had long blonde hair, it was light, like your's," he gestured to Jackson, "actually just like your's, she looked a lot like you actually, same high cheekbones, same nose, and she had a dimple, only one though and she had those green eyes too, but I swear I saw them flash yellow, that girl was not human." He finished. Jackson and Lukas looked at each other, "Alex."
