He put me on the Vigilante task force, which was both good and bad at the same time. Good because it meant I could keep close tabs on the investigation, bad because well it meant I would be spending a lot of time with Lukas and Jackson. Which both thrilled and terrified me. My palms were sweating when I went to introduce myself to them, but I put on a confident smile and lifted up my hair, I was Lucy, not Alex, Alex was shy and timid, Lucy was bold and brash. So I walked up to Jackson first and stuck out my hand, "Lucy Peterson, its nice to meet you detective." He stared at me for a second, but then regained his composure, shook my hand and said,

"Likewise, welcome to the CPD and to the task force, I look forward to working with you, allow me to introduce you to my partner, detective Steele, this is Lucy Peterson."

Lukas turned around and looked at me, my breath caught, I had missed him so much, my heart ached just looking at him. He gave me a puzzled expression, similar to the one Jackson had given me moments ago, but then outstretched his hand for me to shake.

"It's nice to meet you."

"It' nice to meet you as well." I responded with a small smile.

"How about I show you where your desk is, come on, its right next to mine." My brother led me to a desk at the back of the room,

"Here it is, your very own desk, now I know it's not as exciting as a cubicle, but its still pretty cool," He winked at me.

"Cool, thanks, so what do you guys have so far on this vigilante character?" I asked him. It sucked not being able to tell him who I was, I just wanted to give him a big hug and tell him I was fine. There was this look in his eyes, one that hadn't been there seven years ago, that's a look that comes from having lost all your family, I knew it well because it was the same look I had seen every time i looked in the mirror when I was at the compound. I knew it was for the best though, that he didn't know I was alive, I just wasn't the same person, I didn't know if I was worth loving anymore, it was just better this way.

Lukas walked up then and started telling me all they knew,

"Okay so she's a female between the ages of twenty- two and twenty-eight, she's small, probably around one hundred twenty pounds, and about five feet tall. She has long bright red hair, but that's probably a wig, and we think she wears colored contacts so her eye color is unknown. She mostly goes after street thugs, about half our reports are of her attacking would be rapists, or men trying to harm woman, leading us to believe she had been a victim of such an attack in the past. The other half of her victims are drug dealers, so maybe someone close to her has a drug problem, or was killed because of drugs. Finally she must be using some kind of steroid to enhance her strength." He finished. I let out a quiet sigh of relief, they knew next to nothing about me, and I intended to keep it that way.

"Okay that's interesting, do you have any suspects so far?" I questioned him.

"Nothing so far." Lukas answered.

"That's not entirely true and you know it Luke." Jackson said tightly.

"There's no way, we've talked about this Jackson, it's not her." He said that with so much pain in his voice I had no doubt they were talking about me.

"Come on, the first case we got, he described her perfectly, he even said she looked like me!" Jackson refuted.

"Obviously a ploy to try and distract us, anybody who knows anything about us knows about her. Don't you think if she was really back the first thing she would have done was come see you or me?" Lukas reasoned.

Jackson sighed, "You're right, I know you are, I didn't really think it was her, I just wanted so badly for her to be alive."

"Its been seven years Jack, if she was alive she would have come back by now." Lukas told him sadly.

"I know but I just can't help hoping she'll come home, she was all I had Lukas, you've moved on but I can't." Jackson was almost crying. I felt like I was intruding. I couldn't help but feel the sting when Jackson mention Lukas moving on.

"You think I've moved on! She was the love of my life! I loved her before I knew what love was!"

I think they forgot I was there, but they would probably find it suspicious if I didn't ask so I sucked it up and asked,

"Who's she?"
