Feathery snowflakes, individually unique yet similar as a whole, trickling gently amidst the cold winter evening as it cascaded a blanket of white upon the streets. Houses embellished with Christmas lights, blinking gloriously in various bright colors, resembling those loosely wrapped around freshly cut trees that were decorated with a collection of memorable ornaments. A time where friends and family gathered together to warm their hearts with love and joy; a complete contrast from the icy temperature outside.
It began as a sharing of rent for five young men and ended up in them staying under one roof for more than six years. Two were openly affectionate toward each other. Two were still beating around the bushes and have yet to confess. One buried his knowledge with his love for food, for he knew exactly what was going on between all of them.
A special dinner on the eve was a tradition started by Zan, whom would conjure up a grand meal for everyone to enjoy. Boe always tried to lend a helping hand but would usually cause a mess; so this year, Zan banded him from the kitchen. Symon also wasn't allowed to help, since he had a habit of snatching a bite here and there. Bayou was kept out as well because he was too big of a distraction for Lonn. If he was there, they would be cooking each other instead of food. To be clear, for them, the phrase cooking meant loving gazes. They could stare at each other for so long that dust would turn them into statues. So, this left only Lonn as Zan's assistant.
To keep from getting hungry, Symon sidetracked himself with the gifts under the beautiful tree. More like, he was shaking all the boxes with his name on them, attempting to figure out what his friends got for him. Being his partner in crime, Bayou of course would join Symon, mainly interested in the gift Lonn got for him. Seeing that everyone else was busy, Boe grinned mischievously as he took out a black duffel bag filled with mistletoes.
Zan ge's yummy lips will be mine. Mine. ALL MINE! He stood there with his palms resting on his hips, his back arched backward, and a monstrous laughter emitting from his plump lips. "Haha~"
The two halted momentarily to look up from their pile of presents and threw Boe a questioning look.
"Boe, you look creepy," Symon commented.
"Yeah, what's with the evil laugh?" Bayou asked.
"N-Nothing," Boe panicked, realizing that he had enacted his happy thoughts aloud. "I was...um..."
The two gawked at Boe as they awaited his answer.
"I was excited to put up the finishing touches for the decorations." Forcing on a wavering smile, Boe hurried off on his mission to steal a kiss from his not-so-secret crush. With double-sided sticky tape in hand, Boe put up a tiny bundle of mistletoe on the top of each doorframe. Clapping his hands like a seal with its fins, Boe wandered over to the kitchen and glanced in. Zan was standing in front of the stove, stirring a pot of beef stew with a wooden spatula, whilst wearing his lavender plaid ruffle apron. He looked more delicious than the dish he was preparing. Gulping, Boe's cheeks reddened at the thought of unwrapping Zan as his Christmas gift. Aiyoh! What am I thinking? I'm not a pervert. Not a pervert. No...no...not a pervert... The lad shook the inappropriate thoughts out of his head.
