There she was, one of my best friends passed out in the middle of the lawn! I choked back a laugh as I motioned for Sage to help me drag Taylor back into the house.
Once we finally got inside, Ryan immediately came over to help us get her in the back seat of my car to drive her home.
I was sad to leave, but at the same time I knew I was doing Taylor a big favor by taking her home. I would have had to go home soon anyway because my curfew was midnight.
As I was driving Taylor home my phone started ringing. I checked the caller ID and it was my dad.
At first I thought it was a little odd for him to be calling this late, but then I realized he was probably just calling to check up on me.
I answered the phone and heard a very distressed voice on the other line.
"Bella, your mother has been admitted to the hospital. A drunk teenager hit her on her way home from work, and I don't think she is going to make it," my dad sobbed into the phone.
I told him I would get there as soon as I could. I hurriedly dropped Taylor off and sped to the hospital.
It was a very long night as my dad and I anxiously awaited for news on my mother who was currently in emergency surgery.
