fourth; slow dance

When Bailey woke up, she had to get the nurse to brush her teeth because she didn't remember how to do it herself. She thought it was embarasing, but the nurse told her that it happened to most coma patients, and that some couldn't even remember how to speak.

The nurse also told her that visiting hours began at twelve, and that she should be ready for a lot of visitors the next few weeks that she spent at the hospital. Bailey frowned when the nurse said that she would be in the hospital for weeks, she didn't like being there.

She would feel much better if they just let her back into the world. She could get back her memories that way, too.

As soon as the clock had struck twelve, Hannah burst in through her door, with a huge grin on her face. She had a small backpack in her hand, and she put it on the table next to Bailey's bed. She opened it, and pulled out a phone, charger and a set of white earphones.

"I brought you your phone and some clothes," she told her. "I figured you would be tired of that nightgown by now." Bailey nodded. She was, in fact, tired of wearing the hospital dress. It was white, and too big for her thin and fragile body.

Hannah started explaining to her how she called people, and how she could text other people. She handed Bailey the phone, and the first thing she did was click on the Twitter app.

"Oh that's Twitter," Hannah said. "Do you want me to show you how to use it?" she asked, but Bailey shook her head. She knew how to use Twitter. She didn't remember anything specific, no memories attached to it, but she knew how to use it.

She had an awful lot of followers, she noted. Almost one million. How did she get that many? Her profile picture was a picture of her and Calum, they were laughing and there was a sparkle in her eyes that she was sure she could never get back.

"Calum's fans really seem to like you," Hannah smiled at Bailey. She put her hand on Bailey's shoulder, and sat down in the chair next to her. So many people had sat in that chair, Bailey thought. "You should tweet them, tell them about what happened."

Bailey nodded. These people were like her friends. A huge group of strangers that she knew, even though they had never met, or probably even talked. She clicked on the button that allowed her to send a new tweet.

@BailsWilsonBailss: thought i'd update you; i'm in the hospital. I've been in a coma for almost four weeks. I have lost my memories - can't tie my shoes!

She showed the tweet to Hannah, and she laughed. Her laughter was a reassuring sound, and she sent the tweet. "You sound like yourself, even though you can't even remember how that is!"

Bailey laughed with her then, and suddenly her notifications were blowing up, and so was Hannah's. "What's happening?" Bailey asked, but Hannah looked just as surprised as Bailey. They both checked their indirects; the hastag #memoriesofcalandbails was everywhere, and they decided to check it out.

What they saw was rows and rows of pictures and written down memories, shared by her and Calum. There were pictures of the two of them kissing, laughing, holding hands, talking, dancing and there's even a few of them dancing in the rain.

People were even tweeting pictures of their conversations on various social medias.

@Calum5SOS: i love you @BailsWilsonBailss

@BailsWilsonBailss: @Calum5SOS go back to bed.

@Calum5SOS: @BailsWilsonBailss join me

@BailsWilsonBailss: @Calum5SOS you're in Asia you idiot

@BailsWilsonBailss: @Calum5SOS :))

She felt incredibly happy, seeing how everyone was trying to get her to remember. Then, when it didn't have any effect, she started to cry. The tears streamed down her cheeks, a few of them hitting the screen, still filled with the pictures of her and Calum.

They were really cute together. Bailey liked the way her and Calum looked at each other, as if there was no one else in the world. She wanted to thank everyone for what they had done.

@BailsWilsonBailss: thanks guys - i'll tweet if i get my memories back.

She closed her eyes, and leaned back against the pillows. Hannah was still going through the pictures of her and Calum, letting out an occasional "aw" or screech when she found an extra adorable picture. A tweet popped up on her phone.

@Calum5SOS: @BailsWilsonBailss when you get your memories back*

She smiled slightly. He was right, they had to come back. If they didn't, she would ask everyone she knew to write down everything about her, so that she could become a replica of her old self. She had to become the person she was before the accident.

After Hannah left, she found some music. She only had a playlist that was made out of five songs. She recognized them all, but she couldn't remember the melody or the lyrics. She decided to let it play. There was a knock on her door. "Come in," she said.

Calum came in through the door, with two books in his hand. He put them down on the table beside the bag that Hannah left. He smiled when he heard the song playing.
'I miss you' by Blink-182, she noted, looking down at her phone before putting it away. She smiled at him. "Hey," she beamed.

"Wanna dance?" he asked. She looked at him for a good few seconds, before shaking her head slightly. He frowned, and let his outstreched hand fall. "Why not," he asked. She didn't answer, just shrugged.

Truth was, she didn't even know if she could stand on her own two feet, let alone dance. She didn't even know how to. There were pictures of her and Calum dancing, but it seemed more like running around than dancing.

Then, when the song changed to The Light Behind Your Eyes by My Chemical Romance, he asked her again. "Please," he said, sending her a look that could only be described as 'puppy eyes' on full blast. She rolled her eyes at him, and swung her legs over the side of the bed.

She hadn't tried to stand up since she woke up from her deep sleep, so she wasn't sure if her legs would hold her. They looked awfully thin. Just looking at them made her seriously doubt whether or not they could hold her weight.

Calum nodded his head at her, and she put her feet on the floor, pushing herself off the bed, and standing up. Her legs didn't break in two, and they didn't collapse under her weight. She did have some trouble walking over to Calum, but as soon as she was in range, he pulled her in towards him.

He put his arms around her waist; rested his hands on her lower back. "I like your nightgown," he told her. She laughed at the oversized hospital gown, and he laughed at her laughing. She did have a funny laugh; a bit too high-pitched. She put her arms around his neck, and he started dancing, taking tiny steps back and forth.

Bailey had some trouble, stepping on his feet again and again, laughing every time she clumsily landed on his foot. She bit down on her lip, and told him sorry.

"I'm sorry for stepping on your foot," she whined. He smiled, and caught a strand of her hair, pushing it behind her ears.

"It's okay," he said, his voice sounding muffled as he buried his face in her soft, wavy hair. "You can always step on my feet if you want to."
