Mila's pov

Harry knew, just as well as everybody else sat at that table, that he was an awkward person. He could barely handle the presence of a new person, so it was a surprise to himself most of all that he was so comfortable around Mila as quickly as he was.

Within hours of meeting her, they were having an animated conversation on a plane whilst downing strong drinks; now that was his type of girl.

So it hurt something inside of him that Mila had hardly looked in his direction that night as if she purposely was trying to avoid him.

After their time together in the ocean, they'd met back up with the group, and the day had continued as normal, both of them keeping quiet about the secretive interaction they'd had. Harry just hoped and prayed that their kiss hadn't made things awkward between them.

Mila's mind, however, was far from the kiss.

Sure, she had thought about it endlessly and how it would affect their friendship but at that moment she had to remind herself of her plans for the night; Making new friends, and that's what she intended to do.

"Ten years!" Freya slurred, hanging onto Josh with her free hands, she was considerably drunker than the rest of the table, "Ten fucking years, and he won't even make me pancakes at the weekends"

"I'm a busy man!" He argued back, a laugh to his voice as he watched the love of his life drink again, "Plus you're always streaming, there's no time"

"Excuses" she shook her head, looking Mila directly in the eyes, "I bet you'd make me pancakes, Mel" she pouted.

"Everyday," Mila nodded, taking a sip of her drink, "I think you should drop Josh and let me wife you"

"Amazing idea!" Freya let go of Josh, leaning to her other side closer towards Mila, "If you take me, you have to take Talia"

"Sounds about right" she laughed, looking over to Talia who was talking quietly to Simon, sipping her drink slowly.

"So I've lost my girlfriend, might as well get smashed" Josh spoke to nobody in particular, before picking up his half-pint and downing it.

"Let's dance, " their view was interrupted as Vik stood suddenly, speaking the first words he had spoken in a while as he was a bit more fucked up than he'd like to admit.

"Yes!" Freya agreed, standing suddenly and pulling Mila with her. Both of the girls made their way to the dance floor, Vik following, stumbling his way down the two steps.

It didn't take long for Tobi and Josh to follow, swaying slightly compared to Vik and Freya's energetic dancing. Mila watched from the side, not dancing as she was only tipsy but trying her best to join in.

A hand grabbed Milas, making her jump until she looked to the side and saw Lucy. The older girl raised their hands together, dancing lightly as they swayed together before Lucy spun, walking closer to Ethan before dancing with him.

In a way it settled Mila's nerves, Ethan was lovely even though they hadn't spoken much since the first night. However, seeing Lucy getting closer to Ethan, and hopefully further away from Harry, was a good thing for Mila.

But Mila knew it wasn't that easy, it never was with Lucy. It wouldn't matter if Lucy was in a serious relationship with a different person, she'd most probably fall out with Mila if she even had an inkling that she had contact with Harry.

Tonight wasn't for that kind of thinking, though, tonight was for new friends not to worry about losing old ones.

Back at the table, a certain blond-haired boy couldn't keep his eyes away from the girl, no matter how hard he tried, his eyes always flickered back.

"Just go for it mate" a loud voice cut into his thoughts, whilst his eyes remained in the same place.

The way she moved her hips in her satin skirt so that it raised ever so slightly; the way her hair framed her face in just the right way under the iridescent lights; the way she laughed so hard that tears pricked her tears, even in the middle of a crowd of people she seemed so calm.

"What do you mean?" He finally broke his gaze, looking towards Freezy with furrowed eyebrows.

"You can't stop looking at her, mate, it's so obvious" his arm stretched out, pulling Harry into him and speaking directly into his ear, the alcohol and loud music making it seem like he couldn't be heard. When in reality he was now shouting into Harry's ear, "And she likes you back"

His head shot towards Cal, how would he know? He couldn't have seen their kiss so he had no evidence for his statement, but then again they were never subtle about it.

"Really?" He tried to keep a steady voice, not wanting to let anything out without meaning to.

"Everybody knows she does, she's basically told everyone" Cal continued, rambling more as Harry's eyes trailed back to the dance floor, watching Vik and Mila showing off their 80's dance moves to each other.

That means that she had spoken to Cal about him, maybe even told him about their kiss and that's how he knew.

"- and I mean she's not my type but if you're happy go for it-" Harry heard as he tuned back in, "-she's a bit uptight and annoying for me but, hey, you do you man"

Now that bit confused Harry.

Cal and Mila had spoken quite a bit over the last few days, and Cal had even told Harry how he liked Mila a lot, considering her a friend after their first night. So why now would he call her uptight and annoying? Two things that nobody who knew her would call Mila.

"- Yeah you and Lucy would be good together"

"What?" Harry's head shot towards Freezy, pure confusion on his face.

"What?" Cal asked back, his voice slurring slightly.

"Lucy? I wasn't talking about..." he trailed off, not completely sure what to say.

"Oh..." Cal stated confused, "Oh...Oh! You mean Mila!" He all but shouted, "Thank God! That Lucy would be a piece of work mate, I'm telling you now. Think I've had a few too many" he started rambling again, motioning to his drink, repeating multiple times about how Mila was great and how happy he was that it wasn't Lucy, as everything he had said about her being sound was a lie.

"Cal, my friend, shut up for a sec," Harry told him, tired of hearing the same three sentences over and over.

"Okay, okay, I'll shut up. But you go dance" he shoved Harry from his seat, pushing him in the direction of the dance floor.

"What?"

"With Mila" he spoke this time, not shouting in case the rest of the table heard which Harry appreciated.

"But-" Harry started, making his way back to the table.

"Just go dance with her you drip" He shouted back, moving up so that Harry couldn't slide his way back in, "because you're not sitting back here"

Then Cal turned away, starting a conversation with JJ, or as much of a conversation as you could have with a lightweight after a few cocktails, leaving the awkward boy to slowly make his way towards the dance floor, his breath hitching as he made eye contact with her.

Before a smile graced her face, and he felt calm.
