Mila's pov
The drive to the airport had been quiet, a vast difference from what was going on inside Mila's mind.
She was about to meet a, rather large, group of people that she's spent the next two weeks with for the first time. A group consisting of The Sidemen, the Cal's and Freya, along with Lucy and Talia. Mila had met Freya a few times and enjoyed her company a lot. Much like Talia and Mila herself, Freya was a free spirit who didn't care what others thought of her.
"Don't be too worried, everyone's nice" Freya had told her offhandedly before jumping into the taxi van, the four girls along with Josh, Simon and his flatmate simply because of them living together.
"Yeah, they're all great" Lucy cut in, earning an eye roll from Talia, making Simon, her boyfriend, laugh as he flopped into the seat next to her.
"So how come I've never met you?" Simon's flatmate asked. He wasn't looking directly at her, but it was obvious the question was meant for her.
"Guess I'm just not 'round much," Mila shrugged, looking down at her hands and they fiddled to occupy themselves.
"Oh, I'm JJ by the way" he finally looked away from his phone, stuffing it into his pocket before offering her a smile. Whilst his voice, face and even his demeanour were mono-tone Mila sussed the kindness behind his comment, he didn't want to seem rude, and after all, it was 11.30; nobody can be full of life at 11.30 pm.
"Mila" she smiled back, looking towards the window quickly as the taxi set off, all of their bags safely packed in the back.
As the others talked Mila couldn't help but let her mind dance.
Quite frankly she was terrified, anybody that knew her could see that. Her fingers hadn't stopped tugging on each other since the night before, and the inside of her cheek was rough from biting it so often.
The thought of being stuck for a week with a group of people that she didn't know, what if they ended up hating her?
"Stop it" Talia pinched her thigh without looking at her.
"Ow!" Mila complained, slapping Talia's hand with the back of her own, "what the fuck was that for?"
"You're overthinking"
"Am not" Mila rolled her eyes, making a point not to look at Talia, knowing the raised eyebrow she was throwing her way as if to say 'yeah right'.
"You'll be fine" Talia finally said, taking hold of Milas's hand and squeezing, "you'll be pissed half the time anyway, you're always more confident when drunk"
Mila had to agree, it was easier to make friends when she couldn't feel her head enough to overthink.
"He's not here" Lucy frowned lowly, her eyes flicking from the group at the entrance back to Mila who was just getting out of the taxi, "where is he?"
"What, who?"
"Harry, he's not there"
In all honestly, Mila couldn't care less where this 'Harry' was. She was too worried about the group of tall, loud men standing at the entrance; dressed in hoodies and joggers, their baggage surrounding them.
"Ayyee, the boys are here!" The tallest one shouted, making his way over to jump on Simon. He was way too hyper for this early in the morning.
"Cal, get off bro" Simon laughed, pushing the boy onto the floor.
"Mad" a smaller boy laughed from the group, a hoodie covering his short hair but his dark skin was still shining in the street lights.
"And who's this?" 'Cal' asked, pointing between Mila and Lucy.
"This is Mila and-"
"I'm Lucy, we've already met" Lucy interrupted Talia, smiling smugly at Cal.
"Have we?" His eyebrows furrowed, making Talia laugh as they made their way to the group.
"Guys, this is Mila," Talia told them, ignoring Lucy's shrill voice trying to remind Cal about their short meeting.
"Mila this is; Ethan, Tobi, Vik, Cal and I guess we're just waiting for Harry" Talia continued, looking around as she finished, once again people were bringing up this 'Harry'.
"Hi," Mila smiled shyly to the group who all greeted her back.
"Hey," Cal replied, "you can just call me Lux, I think it's easier that way" he laughed lightly, a slight lisp slipping through as he spoke.
"Yeah, it's a lot of names so don't expect much from me" she laughed, earning a chuckle from Lux.
"Aye, how is Harry late bro" JJ sighed, his voice an octave higher than it was in the taxi, like he had more energy now, "Freezy he lives with you"
"He's not late you doughnut" Cal shot back, making Mila assume he was 'Freezy', "he's ran to the toilet because yous lot were late"
"Do-"
"Well we're here now, let's just go in" Freya cut the two off before they could move to an argument.
Mila nodded, along with the rest of the group, grabbing their bags as the lads started shouting and whooping.
This would be a long holiday.
