Mila's pov
There were little parts of Mila's life that she wished to remember, the morning after they're Winter Wonderland date was one of them.
She considered her core memories to be special; faint pictures in her head of herself and her brothers running through the garden, eating their lunch on the wooden bench in their front garden, tracing their fingers along the golden plaque. Or maybe her first date in Paris where the boy took her to a pond, pointing to each flower and telling her facts about it, leading to a summer-long romance.
But this one meant the most.
The sun streaming through the half-closed blinds, dancing through the room, settling on Harry's face delicately. His eyes closed, his face looking relaxed and content.
His head rested on Mila's chest, his whole body engulfing hers, weighing her down into the mattress. His head was pressed into her neck, his breath hitting her sensitive skin in a constant rhythm.
Mila's hand raised to card through his hair, her nails running across his scalp, lulling him back to sleep as he stirred.
"Morning" he hummed, his hands gripping her waist as he stretched before loosening again, probably able to feel her fast-beating heart against his face.
"Morning..." she whispered back, her hand trailing down to the back of his neck, drawing small shapes on his skin.
Harry hummed in satisfaction, vibrating against her skin, pushing his head further into her neck as he tried to get away from the sun in his eyes.
Mila couldn't help the flutter that ran through her body. She always loved seeing Harry in the morning, he was soft and relaxed, against his usual fast-paced life.
"My flights in two hours" he commented, looking at the time on Milas phone which laid beside them.
"No" she replied quietly, wrapping both her arms around his back as she pulled him in closer, "I'll miss you" He laughed, pressing a delicate kiss to her neck, hugging her just as tight.
"I'll miss you too" he hummed before pushing back, supporting himself on his hands, "I have your present"
"I have yours" she smiled back, wiggling out from underneath him and leaning off the bed, pulling her bag close to her, "are we opening now?"
"Can do" he mused as she heard his bedside table close.
"You first" she smiled brightly, pushing the neatly wrapped present into his lap, sitting crossed legged on the bed.
Harry smiled at the obvious shape of the present, knowing instantly what it was before even opening it. Messily, he undid the sellotape, ripping the paper as he took out the bottle.
"Apple Ciroc," he smiled, rolling the bottle in his hand, "our drink" his eyes flickered to her own.
It was the drink he'd bought them their first night in Spain, the drink they shared on the beach before swimming into the morning hours.
"Our drink" Mila repeated, nodding slowly as the smile on his face grew.
"Thank you, here" he pushed a small box into her lap, wrapping shoddy and uneven, some places with only tape covering it.
"Nice wrapping"
"I made Freezy do it, still looks like shit" he laughed, placing the bottle on his bedside table as he watched her undo the wrapping painfully slow.
Once the wrapping was off Mila slid off the lid, gasping at the necklace inside. It was golden, the sun flickering off of the thin chain. Ever few centimetres a small pearl was thread on, a slightly larger diamond-shaped jew in the middle.
"Harry..." she mused, looking between the smiling boy and the box, "it's beautiful how... where did you?"
"Talia helped," Harry smiled, "Got a bit gobby about the other necklace I was looking at but helped none the less" he rolled his eyes lightly before smiling again, helping her put the necklace on as she held up her hair.
"Thank you" she leapt forward, hugging him tightly, his arms wrapping around her waist as he pulled her into his lap, the two sitting in his bed, content.
"I need to get ready" he sighed, not letting go of her just yet.
"I should go" she replied, squeezing him tighter.
The two sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes longer before Harry let go repeating his statement and finally getting up. It was stupid they weren't even dating, yet his leaving was breaking her heart. They'd spent every day together for the last four months, so not having him around would be abnormal.
"I have one more thing for you" he spoke before getting into his taxi, once the two were outside and ready to go.
Mila was waiting for him to leave before starting her short walk to the tube station, ready to go home and spend time with Lucy for once.
"Yeah?" Mila asked, cocking her head in confusion.
He hummed, pulling out a small white paper bag, handing it to her before opening the taxi door.
"Send it, or keep it. Whichever you want" he spoke before she could open it, pulling her towards him lightly by her waist pressing a light kiss to her lips, before breaking it, waving goodbye as he got into the Uber, "I'll see you in two weeks"
She watched his car leave, staring down the road after him. He'd be back before New Years, but that seemed so far away.
The white bag in the hand felt heavy, but soft, like something was wrapped in bubble wrap. Curiosity overtook her body as she carefully peeled off the tape, pulling the wrapped present.
She started walking as she unwrapped the second layer but had to stop in surprise as she saw the present.
A glass lily.
'Send it' Harry had told her. He wanted her to send it to her mother, just like she had told him.
