it was after volleyball practice and bokuto wanted to know all of the details about how you and akaashi got together.
"who? when? where? why?" is what bokuto asked you both, repeatedly, as you three left the gym. then akaashi promised an answer to all his questions with the offer of talking it over at a nearby korean barbecue place.
and bokuto agreed as long as akaashi was paying. once that promise was made, you three started walking to the restaurant. with you and akaashi walking hand in hand.
"you might want to text lev that you won't be picking him up today." akaashi told you as you walked, slightly behind bokuto. you pulled out your phone and texted lev.
you: yo, im helping momo out with something so i can't pick you up today just walk home by yourself and as an apology, i'll buy you something from the convenience store on my way home kk love youuuu 😋
lev responded two minutes later.
levlev: deal buy me those pikachu cookies but the ones in the yellow packet not the black one
you texted lev back with a smiley face and then texted alisa to tell her where you'd be going.
you: heyyyy im gonna be home a little later than usual momo needs help with something, i'll text you when i get home. love youuuuu
'lisa💕 okay love, get something for dinner too. love you too. stay safe.
then you had to text momo to ask her if alisa asked where you were, to tell them you were with her. luckily for you, momo was all for it...with the promise of an ice cream on you.
you had arrived at the restaurant and had been seated by a hostess at the nearest available table. akaashi was still holding your hand and he only let go when you two sat down.
"so, bokuto-san. what do you wanna know about my relationship with f/n?" akaashi asked.
"sooooooooo when did this happen?" bokuto asked, a little excited tone in his voice. he was just happy akaashi had someone else in his life besides the volleyball club.
"well, it happened two weeks ago. i asked her under the cherry blossom trees near the schools courtyard. which comes in my favorite nickname of hers, blossom." bokuto looked at you and akaashi with stars in his eyes. he never knew his introverted best friend could be so...romantic.
"but, you broke up with mai like a week or two ago. and as far as i can tell, i've never really seen you and haiba-chan talk."
from what bokuto remembered from akaashi's last two years at fukurodani, he never saw you two interact once except for the time he saw you two in the gym, which was half of why he was so surprised.
