akaashi's pov:
he had watched you run into your classroom with momo in clutch. he smiled lightly, holding the cheek that you kissed with his hand. he could feel the heat coming from his face, akaashi wasn't one to blush often but he did it so easily around you. he was little scared about that. he lightly slapped himself to snap out of his daze and started walking to class.
yet he still couldn't get over how bold it was of you to kiss him on the cheek, much less in front of the majority of your class. he walked his way to class, people could practically see sparkles around him. he didn't know what this feeling was. the thing with akaashi was, he wasn't too good with feelings.
he just thought it was happiness from reuniting with you, an old friend. anyone with a brain or some form of knowledge about feelings would know what it was.

it was after school and akaashi was yet again waiting for you outside your classroom, his teacher was nice and usually let his students out five minutes earlier.
your teacher however was not as nice as his, and he was that teacher that's all "the bell doesn't dismiss you, i do." two minutes later, you had finally walked out with a sort of angry face.
"yeah, just text me later. i gotta go n/n, bye!" akaashi heard momo say to you as she quickly kissed your cheek and ran to her locker.
"hey kaashi, you know you don't have to wait for me every day right?" you said as you grabbed his hand and started walking to the gym.
"yeah i know, i like doing that though. also, what was that whole kiss on the cheek thing with hirai-chan?"
"oh that? yeah she's affectionate, she's been doing that forever. i'll occasionally give her the little forehead kiss but that's it." you said, nonchalantly. you found it normal after all those years of momo basically tackling you with hugs, but also slapping you.
you two reached the gym and went into your respective locker rooms to change into the appropriate gym clothes from your uniform. practice went on for a while.
akaashi kept looking over to you to either see you taking notes or seeing yukie helping you out with something. he was a little distracted by you, even bokuto noticed it since his sets were a little off today.
"akaashi! bro, are you okay? your sets are a little off today? do you need to sit down or something?" the ace asked as akaashi took his eyes off of you.
"yes bokuto-san, i'm fine. let's continue." akaashi said, getting ready to set the ball to konoha. bokuto nodded, not entirely convinced at his response.
