FRANK:
Did you?WYETTA:
(Pause) Mr. Frank, some nerve you have. Richard and I were happy. Now I understand in this day and age that wives are supposed to depend on their husbands, but that's not me at all. I certainly didn't marry him for his money. Matter of fact, I was perfectly financially stabled before I met Richard. He chased me, I'll tell you that. (Smirking)FRANK:
Fair enough, what happened that night?WYETTA:
(Clearing her throat) We were home that night watching the television, and I left Richard playing with baby Christoper for a shower. (Flashback)- Richard is dangling a toy in front of a gurgling Christoper, laying in his cot.) God, if only I knew that would've been my last time seeing them, I would've never left that room.FRANK:
Yes.WYETTA:
Then I heard a sudden commotion, that's when I thought somethings happening. I got out of the shower and threw on whatever I found. I called out to Richard, but it was grave silence.FRANK:
Wh-what was going through your head at that time?WYETTA:
I was confused, I went into the foyer and that's where I found them. Richard on his face and Christoper not too far from him. For a mother to see her only child laid lifeless, nobody knows the pain, the heartache, I alone felt that night.
