A Year Later.

I smile as Tommy puts his fingers in the trough for the horses, the goldfish not swimming away. "Go on," he urges our two children.

"Fishy," Theo squeals, gently touching the goldfish. "That's right, it is a fishy," I grin, Frankie clutching onto Tommy's hand.

Her hair had grown long, the same shade as Tommy's where as Theo's is the same shade as mine. "Comet," Frankie says, pointing to the dog holding onto his rope toy.

He pads over and nudges her hand for attention, making me laugh. "What do you think? Ride the horses to Small Heath with the kids?" Tommy suggests.

"Sounds good to me, let's just get their gloves," I say, picking Theo up - they could walk a little bit but not for very long.

"Comet come on," Tommy says, whistling for him to follow as he puts Frankie over his shoulder, making her squeal and laugh.

I grab their gloves from the living room after I set Theo down. "I'll go get the horses ready," Tommy says, pecking my cheek as Frankie and Theo waddle into the lounge after him.

"Mama," Frankie says, tugging for her green gloves she chose herself. "Put them on then," I smile, handing them to her.

"You mine," Theo says, holding his hands out for me to put his gloves on.

"Lazy lump," I tease him, putting his brown gloves on his hands.

"Come on, let's go find daddy," I say, taking both of their hands, seeing Comet run to the kitchen as we leave.

"Dada!" Frankie says, pointing at him. "Horsies," Theo says at the same time.

"Do you know their names?" I ask them both.

"Star! Mona Boy!" Theo babbles makes me laugh. "Yes! Star and Mona," I say, knowing he can't pronounce Monaghan yet.

"Who's with who?" Tommy asks.

"Star! Star!" Frankie demands, letting go of my hand and tottering over to the calm horse.

"We'll switch them on the way back," Tommy says, helping me up onto Star even though she's wearing a saddle. "Alright," I say, taking Frankie from him and sitting her in front of me, keeping a hand on her front so she won't slip off.

We wait for Tommy and Theo to settle on Monaghan Boy before allowing them to lead the way.

"Hi Lizzie," I smile, greeting the woman. "Hello, how've you been?" She asks, letting Theo play with her fingers as we talk.

"Good, yourself?" I ask, sitting next to her. "Just finished up, I'm going out for drinks with a few old friends," she smiles.

"That's good! I hope Tommy isn't making you do too much work," I say, giving Theo something to fiddle with.

"You know I wouldn't take it from him if it was too much," she laughs, making me smile. "Good, take care," I say as a woman walks in and I assume she's here to collect Lizzie.
