"Don't break me down I've been travelin' too long I've been trying too hard With one pretty song..." -Lana Del Rey
I looked around wearing a smile people had said they'd missed in the couple of months I spent traveling around the world. My gaze drifted to my mother. She smiled softly at me, a knowing look she wore...
I smiled, "Mom are you sure she'll be there?" I asked.
She nodded, "Hon, for the hundreth time, she's coming. Alexa called an hour ago confirming it. Okay?" She said.
I smiled and nodded, "I missed that smile." She said.
They we're right... My smile and my heart was missing in those six months traveling. Yeah I'd smile to the fans and be happy for the moments I'd spend on stage and when I was in meet and greets but my heart emptied as soon as those we're done.
I felt empty as I entered my hotel room. Stacy had notified me of the sound check I was due for in a couple of minutes. I ran a hand through my disheveled hair and sighed as I walked out.
The crew sent me smiles as we ventured into the airport. I was ready to go back to LA... Go back to her. All of us felt that we'd missed our family's all losing ourselves... But, the difference was... They'd called their loved ones... While I was too scared to call [YN]... They sent me knowing looks as I impatiently took a seat in the waiting area.
I stood up... I couldn't sit still. I paced back and forth waiting the hour off.
"Greyson stop pacing. You'll see her." Drew our base guitarist said.
I groaned, "Not too soon I guess." Benson joked.
"Hon, why don't you call her if you feel so nervous?" Mom asked.
I stopped pacing and took a seat, "No. I-I can't do it." I said.
"Yes you can." Mom said handing me my phone.
"No I-I can't..." I said.
"Do it." The crew said in unison. Probably irritated.
"Okay, okay." I said pressing call.
I paced as I held the phone to my ear, the rest of the crew at the edges of their seat trying to eavesdrop... Ring, ring.. Ring, ring... I stopped and started to tap my left shoe.
"Hello?" I stopped breathing as her soft, velvity voice answered the phone.
"Greyson?" She asked breathlesly.
I couldn't speak. I was frozen... Her voice has such an impact to me.
"G-Greyson are you there?" She asked her voice anxious and hurt.
"Beep. Beep. Beep." The phone started to blare after I didn't answer...
Why didn't I answer her?
