This chapter doesn't flow like I wanted it to so I'm not that happy with it. Just a warning. I may just be too self critical but I don't like it. I hope it's just me!
I aplogise in advance for any mistakes. Editing is way too boring and I never want to do it :)

Rebecca could only stare down at her phone, whole body freezing up. So many things ran through her mind she couldn’t process them all.
Who was it?
The thought jumped from everywhere. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to know. Who could it be? Be rational. Panicking won’t help anything. Taking a deep breath, Rebecca tried to think. Okay, she could rule out the creepy guy from across the road but that took the text to a whole other level she didn’t want to go to. It had to be someone from school. I’m being dumb. It was probably just her mother texting off of a different phone.
Rebecca rolled her eyes. Of course it wasn’t her mother. For one, she wouldn’t see a text that was creepy. Two, she had her own phone and didn’t need anyone else’s.
Rebecca jumped, almost dropping the phone — frankly, she was surprised she hadn’t already, her hands were shaking that bad — when there was a knock on the door.
“Rebecca are you okay?” she heard her dad call from behind the door.
She found herself nodding before she realised he couldn’t see her. “I’m fine,” she yelled back, even if it was the furthest from the truth. She didn’t want to admit it but the text had shaken her more than anything else that had happened to her in the past.
Her dad’s footsteps didn’t turn in the other direction so Rebecca didn’t think he’d left. Rebecca knew she’d worried him. She wasn’t someone one who showed emotion — it hadn’t gotten her anywhere when she was younger. Before she’d been terrified and she knew it had probably been written all over her face.
Her theory was proven correct when he yelled, “I’m coming in to check on you. Tell me now if you’re not dressed because otherwise we’ll both have to suffer through awkwardness neither of us need.”
The smile that crept onto her face couldn’t be helped. Her dad always found a way to make her smile even when he didn’t realise he was doing it.
Then reality came crashing down and it vanished from her face.
“Okay, I’m coming in.”
As the door started to open, the phone suddenly felt ten times heavier in her hand. Should she hide it? Where? Did she play it off and pretend she was just playing games on her phone? She shook her head; her dad was a lawyer for a reason: he was smart. He put the pieces of the puzzle together instantly.
That figured out, now she had to find a spot to hide it.
“Wait! I need to get dressed!” Rebecca yelled to buy herself some time.
She could hear her dad’s sigh. “Now you tell me. Hurry up; I need to talk to you.”
In other words, her dad was going to mention the text she’d asked him about. Rebecca looked around her room, trying to find a spot. If she hid the phone she could pretend that she’d only thought she’d seen a text. Whether or not she’d be able to pull the lie off was up in the air. Either she’d feel guilty about lying and tell him the truth or she’d just not be believable.
After putting the phone under her pillow she yelled, “Come in!”
The door opened as Rebecca was turning.
