CHAPTER 25
Juvia's POV
"It's safe." Xavier announced as he put both of his hand behind his back. "There are no trace of poison anymore."
He opened the door of the house we used to live in to let us in. Petals were still scattered on the floor just like how they described it was but the only difference is that these petals are now dried.
I stayed behind them, watching their every move. The coldness from the outside made me sniff causing a certain stripper to glance at my direction. I immediately looked away and pulled my coat tighter around my body. Even the inside of the house is cold. It just came to me that it has been snowing for the last few days, maybe we were really that preoccupied to not notice these things around us.
"This is quite a home." Lily commented.
I watched as the others scan their eyes around. Gajeel was the one who looks almost uninterested in everything that he sees around. There were eight of us in this group: Me, Lucy, Gajeel, Xavier, Gray, Natsu, and the two exceeds. The rest stayed in the guild as planned. I have to admit how uncomfortable I am but since I have Lucy and Gajeel with me, I somehow feel at ease. I can also tell how Lucy doesn't like the idea of being in this group based on how she stayed close to me the whole time, which I did not mind, but we both know we have to do this.
"Ha! Will 'ya look at that!" Our attentions went to Gajeel who was now holding a photo frame that was displayed on the cabinet.
He turned around holding the frame and when his eyes caught me, he instantly walked towards me. He put the frame beside my face like he's comparing it.
He chuckled once again, face full of amusement. "She's like a photocopy of you!"
Oh, it was Mika's photo.
"She's adorable." Lily's eyes sparkled.
"Aye!"
They continued blabbering about how cute my daughter is until Natsu came with another photo frame in his hands.
"My daughter is much cuter than yours, ice prick."
My eyes twitched at the dragon slayer. Lucy can only shut her eyes tightly as the two started fighting over who's way cuter. Gajeel and Xavier are now on the other side of the room. Their eyes shine like kids as they were busy flipping the pages of a photo album of the children that the exceeds had found instead of parting these two away from each other's faces.
"We're not here to hear you guys throw hates on each other, especially if you're gonna drag the kids into your stupid fights so shut it already."
I was startled at how Lucy snapped but still silently thanked her. The two eventually stopped but still glare daggers at each other. They're still like children, they never change.
"I'll head upstairs." Lucy informed.
I nodded. "I'll come with you."
We both took the stairs to get up without bothering to tell the others who were busy looking at some pictures like they're here to have a vacation and not a mission. I let my eyes travel around the second floor of our house. There were no scratches and the furnitures were still placed on the same spot. One can never tell that enemies did break in the house.
As we were about to get pass my room, a shiny thing caught my eyes. It was placed on my daughter's bed and under her pillow. The sun has already set the moment we got here but I was sure I saw a shiny thing. Then realization hit me.
