My sincere apology for not being active for months. Taking a break is what I needed and I have to prioritize my health. But goodness, I missed writing so much.

Plus, I finally reached legality!!

CHAPTER 34

Juvia's POV

"Did you intend to name her after my mother?"

He asked out of the blue making me look up at him with quite a surprise.

I hesitated at first but seeing his soft eyes watching Mikaisha made me lower my guard down a bit. I turned my gaze to my daughter who was patiently waiting for her turn to wash her hands on the sink.

"I did.."

I felt him avert his eyes on me.

"Thank you."

I looked back on him. He seems delighted, judging from the relaxed smile he has on.

I gave him a short smile in return before continuing arranging Mika's utensils. We were out today to get his necklace fixed, a week after the kids was out from the hospital as I suggested. He arrived early though, we haven't had any breakfast yet before leaving and so does he. He offered to eat breakfast outside together, saying that he wanted to spend the day with us as much as possible.

"Despite the things that happened between us, she's still a part of you." I continued.

He opened his mouth, ready for a reply, but Mikaisha's presence interrupted him. She chose to sit beside him, so I had to move her little plate beside Gray's, while he worked on tugging the table napkin in her dress' neckline. It's nice to see how she's warming up with him. Though I wonder if she'll be mad at me for keeping a secret from her for so long.

Throughout the day, Gray and I never had the chance to converse about our topic earlier. We had our focused on Mikaisha. Or should I rather say that it was him who puts so much effort on her. But it's obvious how he's still struggling as to what he should or should not do. Deep in his mind, I know he's panicking.

It is understandable though since we never really had a proper talk about my daughter. Maybe that's because we've been putting our personal feelings first rather than our daughter's. The least that I can do to make him feel calm throughout the day is to guide him and make him feel at ease. And thankfully, I think it works every time I lend him a hand. Besides, most of the times it was Mika who makes him feel confident of his actions.

"Hey, Juvia..."

My eyes shifted from my daughter to him. We just arrived in front of my apartment and he had just unlock the door since I cannot do so if I have a sleeping Mika in my arms. My little girl sure had some fun today.

There was a second of silence as he tries to speak his mind out. Even if he tries to hide it, he looks nervous. I chuckled to remove his tense.

"Do you want to tuck her in bed?" I said, entering first.

For a second he was surprised. He probably didn't expect that to come out of my mouth, but he seems to want to experience more of this. He released a heavy sigh along with a smile before nodding.

I motioned my head as a sign for him to get inside. He was very careful to not make any noise that will become the reason for Mika to wake up as he moves inside of the house. I led the way to our bedroom and instructed him on what to do while I took the things we've bought earlier to the living room. By the time I got back to them he was already fixing the comforter. I leaned against the doorframe as I continue to watch him. He stroked Mika's hair one last time and I bet he has a soft expression on. My daughter gave him a little reaction that must've alarmed him so he quickly pulled his hand back.
