CHAPTER 35

Mira's POV

"Mommy when will Grampy come?"

My son found it a bit difficult to speak as I wipe his lips with a paper towel. But I understood what he's trying to say anyway.

"I don't know baby," I stood up to clean the mess on the table. "Maybe Grampy is just busy."

It's true. I haven't seen him in two days. Not even here in the guild.

I went to the counter, gathering the plates I used to feed Mason and came back with a wet towel to wipe the table.

"I miss him so much, Mommy." His whines made me smile. "Do you miss Grampy, Mommy?"

"Of course, I miss Grampy."

"I miss Mister Pikachu, too, Mommy." From the sound of his voice, I knew he's much upset about this than saying he misses his grandpa.

Though I worry more for his next question.

"Do you miss Mister Pikachu, too, Mommy?"

I flinched and grimaced to myself afterwards.

Do I really have to flinch?

My eyes darted at my son only to meet his pure ones. He sways his legs back and forth as he remained looking at me, patiently and innocently waiting for my answer. Sighing, I let go of the wet towel on the table and wiped my hands on my apron. I leaned down to reach his eye level, resting my hands on my knees for support.

"Of course, I miss him too." I close the gap between us until my nose touched his causing him to laugh.

His giggles were music to my ears.

"Hello, Mason." Lucy greeted. She immediately brought Mason into her arms, jokingly squeezing him.

Nashi came running towards me, high spirited as always. It's not quite a surprise that Happy is trailing behind her. Juvia and Mikaisha approached us not so long, and so the kids were busy playing again. This has been the usual routine here in the guild ever since we rebuilt it. We're thankful enough that the people here, not only our guild mates, treats them warmheartedly. More than we expected, actually. The first two weeks, though, were still a bit uncomfortable yet they were able to give us comfort and soon learned to adapt.

As I was setting down the newly cooked breakfast that I just made for the newcomers, our attention was rather grabbed by the front doors and the people who just entered.

"Mommy it's Mister Pikachu!"

It was indeed Laxus.

Trailing behind him were Bickslow, Xavier, Natsu, and Gray. Nashi dashed over to the two familiar faces, clutching Mika's hand and Happy's tail. Lucy made an attempt to pursue her daughter but ended up sighing and returning to her seat. She casts a glance over to Juvia, who has just shrugged and chuckled. It was late for me to realize that my son has already ran off with them as well.

My eyes returned to our guildmates. The ice mage and the dragon slayer look pissed though. Xavier was murmuring something to the both of them, but his expression tells how irritated he also is. Bickslow kept his gaze down, meanwhile Laxus wears his usual serious face. But I can already tell that behind that stoic face was a troubled mind.

"What's with the faces?" Lucy seems like Lucy noticed too.

"Smells like a problem." Juvia commented, a trace of worry in her voice.
