i was introducing myself to the group of people in front of me and before i knew it lauren and emily stood up and were dragging me to lauren's room.

"um what are we doing?" i ask.

"we want to get to know you." lauren smiles.

"oh, ok." i say still a little dazed from how fast i was dragged out of the living room.

"before we do that though we have been dying to ask about you and johnny." emily exclaims.

"what about us?" i question.

"well, i mean we know how you met and everything-" lauren says before getting cut off.

"but like, is there a relationship going on? because johnny won't tell us anything!" emily interrupts.

"no, i don't think so," i laugh, "i mean we only met last week."

"but you think something could happen?" emily asks eagerly.

"emily!" lauren exclaims while lightly hitting her friend's arm.

"what?" emily says, feigning innocence.

"it's ok," i giggle, "honestly i couldn't really tell you though, i've never been the relationship type so i wouldn't even be able to tell if it was going anywhere."

"well that's what we're here for!" emily jokes.

"amongst other things," lauren adds.

"so he really hasn't said anything?" i ask nervously.

"well he talks about you nonstop but then he denies being anything more than friends with you." lauren explains.

"and that's why when he was considering inviting you over we practically begged for him to do it." emily admits.

"of course we also wanted to meet you for other reasons as well." lauren reminds.

"yeah, well at least you're sure now because we truly aren't anything more than friends." i assure them.

"hey, are you two done with your interrogation yet?" hayden asks, barging through the door.

"as a matter of fact, we are." emily boasts.

us girls then stood up and followed hayden back out to the living room.

"sorry about them." johnny says.

"no worries, they seem nice." i laugh.

"that's because we are nice!" lauren smiles.

"yeah, ok." hayden jokes.

"so what did you three talk about?" johnny questions.

"nothing," lauren and emily say simultaneously.

"ok then," hayden says, "what should we do now?"

"do you guys have any video games?" i suggest.

"yes!" hayden shouts and jumps up to turn on the tv.

a couple hours and lots of games played later, i decided i was probably overstaying my welcome and started to say my goodbyes to everyone.

"it was so nice to meet you all, and thank you again for having me over." i say.

"yeah, i'm so happy we finally met. you'll have to come over again soon!" lauren says before giving me a hug.

as i walk toward the door i notice johnny grab his keys of the counter and start to walk in my direction.

"what are you doing?" i ask.

"driving you home." he states matter of factly.

"why?" i laugh.

"because it's dark outside now." he explains.

"and?" i question.

"come on, don't try to argue, you know that i'll be driving you home no matter what you say." johnny tells me.

"fine. bye everyone!" i say one last time.

"bye!" they all shout back.

"ok let's go." johnny says.

on the way out to the car, the feeling of johnny's hand placed on my lower back is prominent. it's such a small gesture but i can feel my face flush nevertheless. he walks me to the passenger side of the car and helps me step into the car before jogging back to his side.

"you know i haven't stopped thinking about the fact that you live right around the corner from me, i run past your house almost everyday, and i still had no idea who you were until last week." johnny admits.

"well it's not your fault, i'm not a very sociable person and i'm homeschooled so there was really low chances of us meeting anyway." i laugh.

"well i'm glad we finally did." he says, looking over at me.

"eyes on the road, orlando." i joke.

a few seconds later and we were approaching my house.

"well thank you for driving me home and thank you again for inviting me over." i say.

"no problem, we'll have to do it again sometime." johnny smiles.

"definitely," i reply.

i then take off my seatbelt and step out of the car. i walk up the driveway to my front door. and with my luck i end up struggling with the lock and it takes me a minute to unlock it. i step into the house and before i close the door i look back at johnny's car and see him staring back at me. i give him a small wave before shutting the door with a big smile on my face.
