Chapter 2

Kenma and Kuroo talked in the cafe for hours. Kenma realized how much he had missed his friend. Yeah, he'd gotten used to life without him, but it felt... really nice to know Kuroo again. And yeah, he felt like he knew Kuroo now. It was now 10pm, the cafe had just closed, and Kenma was walking back to his dorm. He couldn't really believe that Kuroo was real again. But he was. He had spent hours talking to him again.
They'd exchanged phone numbers, and Kuroo had said "See you soon, Kozume!" before walking to a friend's house (where he said he needed to pick up a text book he had forgotten). Kenma got back to his dorm relatively quickly. His roommate was already fast asleep, so Kenma decided to finish off his homework and get a little further in his newest minecraft world.
At 2am, he was still playing. He'd done more than a little. He wasn't just playing. He was thinking. He felt like meeting Kuroo again was a sign. A sign to turn his life around. To better himself. To... to try to enjoy life. He didn't just want to live, he wanted to feel alive. Alive. He wanted to try it all. He wanted to fall in love. He wanted to get his heart broken. He wanted to cry missing someone. He wanted to watch the sunrise with his best friend. He wanted to sit on a rooftop with a drink in one hand and admire the stars.
So at exactly at 2:34 am, when Kenma Kozume finally fell asleep, he didn't just think of all the days he'd missed out on. He thought about all the days yet to come.

Kenma woke up at about 9:30, made himself a strong cup of coffee, and practically ran out of his dorm to get to his first class on time. He hopped onto his bike, accidentally spilling some coffee onto his new jeans.
Yeah, not a great start to his first day of trying to be a new, better Kenma. At least he made it to his first class, Government and Politics (a class Reah had made him take as an elective), on time. He quickly walked over and sat down next to Reah.
"Good morning Kenma. Did you actually sleep last night?"
"Uh, a little. I couldn't sleep much though."
"Were you trying to crush someone in Call of Duty again cause you needed revenge?' Reahlynne rolled their eyes at him. "Seriously."
"Surprisingly, that's not the reason." Kenma explained to Reahlynne what had happened to him with Kuroo yesterday. When he finally finished, all that Reah had time to say was "Wow! That's crazy!"
Just as she started to ask a question, the professor walked in, and the class started. Kenma made sure to take careful notes. About twenty minutes into the class, Kuroo texted him.
"Hey Kozume, do u have class at 12:30
If so wanna have lunch together at the sandwich shop near the west side of campus
I'll pay."

Wow. Kuroo really was being extremely quick about this whole "rekindaling a friendship thing"
Kenma had thought he'd wait until the evening before he would get another text from Kuroo, and another week or two before they hung out. Yeah, he wanted to be friends, but this quick? And lunch together? The day after they met?
Kenma was pretty sure this was not standard friend practice. From what Reahlynne told him, and from what he saw on social media, this was literally a sign that Kuroo was obsessed with him.
Kenma glanced around, then passed his phone to Reahlynne. They read the texts, and to  Kenma's horror, began typing. In about twenty second, they passed the phone back.
Kenma read what they had sent Kuroo.
"Yeah of course! I'm literally so excited to get to know you better. Ik we did a lot of catching up yesterday, but one day is not enough time to make up for how long we haven't talked for."
Kenma cringed. He never texted like that. Reahlynne's texting personality was nothing like his. He wasn't really ready to explain to Kuroo about why he sounded different in text all the time, nor did he want to tell him that he'd let anyone else look at their texts, nor did he want to adopt Reah's texting style. Kemna shot his friend a frustrated look, and they just winked back.
A few seconds later, Reah texted him.
"Don't take this personally, but I just wanna make sure that you don't fuck this one up. I want you to have a hot volleyball boyfriend by the end of the day.
"OMFG REAH WE'RE JUST FRIENDS CHILL"
"Okay. If you say so."
"Bitch.
    "You too."
Kenma sighed, and turned his attention back onto the professor.

Kuroo's POV

As Tetsuro biked from his first class to his second, he checked his phone to see if Kozume had responded. To his delight, Kozume had agreed.
"Great! See you then!" He responded, and proceeded to almost run over a girl walking across the street.
"Sorry!" he yelled back as he peddled on.
She had been pretty cute. Wouldn' that be a story, if he'd gotten her number after almost running her over.
The bay area was really nice this time of year. Though he was less than an hour outside of san francisco, the air smelled more like trees then either fires or cars. He honestly wasn't sure how or why. The water fountains all over Stanford gurgled pleasantly, and there was a lot of trees and shrubbery. The weather was always nice (except during the summer, when he was back in Chicago anyways).
The people were nice, generally liberal, and very accepting. San Fransico was called the gay capital of the world sometimes, after all. Tetsuro smiled to himself. Half the reason he chose this college was because of the atmosphere. He'd gotten into many good schools, but he'd felt a calling to the bay area.
Stanford had also been the only school that gave him a scholarship for anything but volleyball definitely had nothing to do with it. He still played of course, but just in the club. He didn't even come to the practices half the time- he was too busy with academics. He was planning on a double major in economics and marketing with a minor in chemistry. To an outsider, that was insane. To Tetsuro, it was just another part of life.
He arrived at his building, and walked into his room a few minutes before class started. However, even when his class did start, he didn't really pay attention to his class. He though about hanging out with Kozume. Something about Kenma was really interesting to him. He couldn't place it, it was almost like Kozume had Tetsuro ensnared in a spell.
Kozume remind Tetsuro of that weird music that you would swear you had heard in your early childhood, but you couldn't place it. Like that weird memory you had that could just be from a dream. Or maybe it was more like that place you drive by once every three years that gives you this odd dejavu every time. Basically, meeting Kozume was like a dream. Maybe like a sweet, pleasant dream, or even some sort of insane fever dream. But it didn't feel real.
However, Tetsuro liked that. It added to the interest he had in Kozume, and part of the reason he had asked to hang out again so quickly. Tetsuro's mind wanted to keep wandering, but deep down, in the darkest parts of mind- he just wanted to pass the class. So, he shifted his thoughts away from Kozume and back onto aggregate supply
