Chapter 2

Obi-Wan's POV

I walked back up into Padme's room seeing Alli and Anakin standing guard, "Captain Typho has more than enough men downstairs no assassin would try that way." I said taking my robe off. "Any activity up here?" I asked either one. "Quite as a tomb." Alli said. "I don't like just waiting here for something to happen to her." Anakin said.

I tried to look at the camera in Padme's room to see if everything's alright but couldn't see, "What's going on?" I asked. "Ah she covered the cameras I don't think she liked me watching her." "What is she thinking?" "She programmed R2 to warn us if there is an intruder." I looked at Alli, "Don't look at me like that I didn't know she covered the camera." Alli said. "Anyways Ani there are many other ways to kill a senator." She said looking at our padawan. "I know but we also want to catch this assassin don't we Masters?" Anakin asked. Alli and I looked at each other then at Anakin, "You're using her as bait aren't you?" Alli asked.

He didn't bother looking at Alli as she gave him the what did you do look and let me tell you I've gotten that look and it's not nice, "It was her idea." Anakin said. Alli and I crossed our arms looking at him, "Don't worry no harm will come to her I can sense everything going on in that room." He said looking at Padme's room door. "Trust me." "It's too risky Anakin." Alli said. "Besides your senses are that attuned our young apprentice." I said not realizing I said it in a cocky tone. "Like yours are?" Alli asked looking at me. I saw Anakin smirking knowing I better think twice for my answer, "Possibly." I said which she smiled softly.

Alli and I looked at Anakin seeing him seeming tired, "You look tired." I said. "I don't sleep well anymore." Anakin said. "Because of your mom?" Alli asked him in a caring tone. He looked down and nodded, "I don't know why I keep dreaming about her." He said. "Dreams pass in time." "I'd much rather dream about Padme just being around her again is intoxicating." Alli nodded listening to him. She's always been like this tho always listening to what he has to say cause she relates to his story.

"Just remember what we told you mindful of your thoughts sometimes they can betray you." Alli said looking at him. He nodded, "You've made a commitment to the Jedi order a commitment not easily broken." She said. "You and Obi-Wan did." "Don't turn this on us." Alli and I said. Anakin chuckled softly, "What you two broke the code yet still Jedi I just wonder how that's possible." He said. "We got lucky." Alli said. He nodded as he just looked out at the view.

"And don't forget she's a politician and they're not to be trusted." I said. Alli looked at me giving me the really look and I sent her back the you know it look, "She's not like the others in senate Master." Anakin said as we walked back inside. "It is with my experience that senators focus only on please those who fun their campaigns and there is no means scared of forgetting the niceties of democracy in order to get those funds." I said. "Not another lecture." Anakin whined as he sat down.

Alli started walking towards Padme's door, "Love?" I asked. "There's something not right." She said. "I sense it too." I said feeling it suddenly. Anakin ran in saving Padme which she woke up. I went towards her when Alli ran and jumped out the window, "Alli!" I called. "Stay here!" Anakin and I yelled to Padme and her servants.

Anakin and I jumped into speedster and went looking for Alli, "Found her." Anakin said and sped up as Alli was falling as the drone was shot. We caught her Alli landing in my lap, "Remind me to never do that again." Alli said to us. "Are you okay?" I asked Alli "What took you guys so long?" She asked us annoyed and scared. "Oh you know Master I couldn't find a speeder that I really like." Anakin said. Alli sent him a look which if looks could kill Anakin would be dead.

"There he is." Alli said pointing out who shot the droid. "With the open cockpit and the right speed capabilities." Anakin said. "If you spent as much time practicing your footwork as you do your wit you would rival Master Yoda as a swordsman." Alli said as I held onto her tightly. "I thought I already did." Anakin said. "Only in your mind our young apprentice." I said when Anakin shot straight down following the assassin. "Pull up Anakin." I said Anakin was laughing. "Pull up!" He didn't go straight down anymore and fixed how we was flying, "You know we don't like when you do that." Alli and I said to him. "Sorry Masters I forgot you don't like flying." Anakin said. "We don't mind flying but what you're doing is suicide." Alli said glaring at him.

We kept following the assassin when he shot a lighting beam and went through it, "Please don't it." Alli said gripping onto me. "Anakin how many times do we have to tell you...." I was saying when we got shocked. "Stay away from power couplings!" I yelled at him. We made it through Alli and I looking at him, "That was good." I said sarcastically.

Anakin veered away from the assassin, "Where are you going he went that way." Alli said looking back at where the assassin went. "Masters if we keep this chase going any longer that creep is gonna end up deep-fried and personally I'd very much like to find out who he is and who he's working for this is a shortcut." Anakin said. "Is it?" Alli asked him. "I think." We came to an intersection where there's tons of speeders, "Well you've lost him." I said looking at Anakin. "I'm deeply sorry Master." Anakin said.

"Some short cut Ani he went completely the other way and...." Alli was saying. "If you'll excuse me." Anakin stands up and jumps over the side of the speeder. Alli and I looked at where he jumped then at each other, "I hate it when he does that." We both said. Alli got into the driver's seat as he landed on the assassin's speeder and started following them.

"Sorry if I scared you by jumping out the window." Alli said looking at me. "Not at all darling maybe you can jump on something else later." I said. Alli turned looking at me with wide eyes, "Okay Master." Alli said carrying out master. "Do that again and we'll have to leave Anakin." I said. She giggled when I saw Anakin's lightsaber coming towards us and caught it holding onto it. Alli sped up to try and catch Anakin as the assassin's speeder started to catch on fire and crash to the ground which scared both Alli and I.
