Sariye started to visit Zülfüleyfe more frequently with each passing day, being deeply worried about this thoughtful mood of hers. As usual she went to visit her friend first thing that morning. She opened the door slightly and seeing her friend sound asleep, slowed down her movements.

Zülfüleyfe did not like herself but everyone in the mansion, including Sariye and Ehzel thought that she was beautiful. She was a slender girl, both frail and physically thin. She was tall and had long hair surrounding her round fair face.

Zülfüleyfe woke up despite Safiye's efforts to keep silent. She opened her eyes and looked at her confidant.

"You are such a beautiful friend, thinking about me more than myself."

Hearing these words, Sariye replied in a shy and complaining manner "this is my duty, even if it is not, you are my friend". She drifted towards the balcony drawing back the curtains and opening the door. They all have woke up to a bright day. "Maybe they would return today"

"I have just brought you some news. Yesterday, two of your father's men have returned to the mansion. They said that your father would return today."

Zülfüleyfe, upon hearing the news found it easier to get out of the bed giving a huge to her friend. Her L-shaped room was quite large, with the long side of it covered completely with windows.

Her broad balcony walls allowed her to watch the city lights even from her bed. Recent news urged her to run around the room but she got a grip on herself and turned to Sariye with a smile.

"Let's have a nice breakfast. I need to think straight today. I need to hear clearly and also understand clearly"

"Of course, Ehzel might have prepared it already" said Sariye, taking the scribbled papers at the bedside in her hand. Obviously, they were made yesterday evening.

Zülfüleyfe was in love with the love itself. No matter where, she would make her father fetch related books and she would read them wholeheartedly. However, she hasn't dreamed about falling in love herself. She would sometimes ask Sariye about love but never got satisfying answers. Yet again, it was Mihca who gave her the most pleasant answers on this matter.

She was deeply impressed by Mihca's writings on love. Because her master has experienced love and he was able to tell all about it though she still did not feel it completely. She has indeed scribbled one of her master's poems on the paper Sariye found at her bedside. She called out to Sariye, "Can you read it?"

"To the fields of my heart

Lands one drop of your longing, turning green,

Let it grow into a rose to be seen.

Oh love, turn to me,

From that burning longing of me for you,

Let your one laughter be my rescue."

Sariye seemed very happy about what she has just read.

Sariye who had brown, slanted eyes did eat and talked very little. She was not as slender as her friend but a bit shorter and well-built, but not fat, compared to her. Maybe the most beautiful thing about her was the warm smile she always had on her face.

She placed the papers in her slim hands on the table. With her intense gaze on Zülfüleyfe, she took a deep breath before asking; "Ma'am, I want to know. What is behind all of this mystery? What is it that affected you so much?"

She asked this before. She was stuck in between her usual state of not asking and the concern of disturbing her by asking.

"I don't know Sariye, I really have difficulty myself in understanding."
