Third Person POV
"Do you believe in magic?" Everyone in the room sings.
Before Mrs. Forest can speak, Oz starts singing a heartfelt vocal 'scat' to end the number. Jackie turns around to watch him with a raised eyebrow while everyone else is watching in awe. He stops after a minute when he feels eyes on him.
"What was that?" Mrs. Forest asks him.
"Sorry." He says, slightly embarrassed.
Jackie bites her lip to stop from laughing and turns around.
"No, it was good."Mrs. Forest smiles at him.
"Oh, thanks." He smiles before looking at Heather, turning into Mr. Sensitive. "It came from the heart."
She blushes before looking at the teacher again. Jackie discreetly rolls her eyes at the sound of her best friend.
"Well, then, keep it coming." Mrs. Forest nods to him. "Alright, people, good work. Now don't forget. The state competition's a couple weeks away so keep on it."
The group starts to separate and get their stuff.
"I'll see you later, Oz." Jackie says, patting his arm and running to get her stuff.
Her twin needed help with something important. Of course he never informed her of what it was. Just said that after practice she had to hurry to find him. Heather sees the girl run out of the room and bites her lip, gaining courage. She walks toward Oz , who is knelt down, closing his bag, before speaking softly.
"Not bad, Chris."
Oz looks up and smiles slightly.
"Really?" He stands up, holding his bag straps. "Thanks. Uhh...Heather, right?"
"Yeah." She nods, smiling. "So...you've got this sort of Frank Sinatra thing going there."
"Yeah. Right." He chuckles slightly, not understanding. "I feel like I've discovered this whole new side of me. Music is so expressive."
He bends slightly to grab his lacrosse stick, or better known as crosse, before looking at her again.
"Okay. I mean, I agree, but aren't you supposed to be out, like, trying to decapitate someone with your lacrosse stick or something?" She asks, gesturing to his hand.
"Oh sure." He nods, slightly irritated. "I know what people think. It's like 'Oz, he's just this kickass lacrosse player' but I also play football, by the way. But that's like...not all that I am, you know."
"Of course, I didn't..." She shakes her head, but he cuts her off.
"I mean it really bothers me when people, besides Jackie, try to pigeonhole me like that." He says, walking around her toward the door.
"You?" She says, catching his attention. "You think I don't get that? God, it's like just because I don't get drunk and barf every weekend, people say 'oh, here's this goody-two-shoes choir girl priss."
