Heather's POV

I woke up the next morning tired as hell. I sat up and before I knew what was even happening I was on the ground. I just casually rolled off my bed. Oops, well that's one way to wake up.

I got up and put my outfit on for the day. It was basic gray sweatpants with a white muscle tee. There was really no one to impress so I didn't put any makeup on, and the fact that I am way too lazy. I also have the attention span of a potato.

I ran downstairs with my backpack resting on my shoulders. I went into the snack closet and I got out a handful of Doritos for my breakfast. My mom rolled her eyes at me as she headed to the garage. I followed her because I needed to get my car.

The engine purred as I was getting ready for another crusty day ahead of me.

I was putting books I needed for my classes in my bag when a figure was next to me.

"You know. That is really creepy just standing at someone's locker and just staring at them. Do you do that with everybody or should I feel honored?" I joked without looking up.

"Sorry I just wanted to introduce myself," shrugged the figure.

"Why, don't you have any friends? If ya don't, just pay a couple of people and then you would be all set. You're getting desperate if you're coming to me there buddy," I laughed to myself.

"I just thought you were kind of hot. So I wante-"

"Ok one, you thought I was hot. You also used the past tense version. So was I hot like yesterday and not today? That's dope. Plus if you think I'm hot then what ugly people have you seen?"

"You still are hot! And no one has caught my attention as you do."

I snorted. "Ok buddy, glad ya think so." I finally looked up. He was wearing khaki shorts, a plain blue shirt, and the Riverdale football jacket thingy over it. He did have some swaggy hair, he had brown eyes. "So get to the point, what do you want?"

"I was wondering if you would go out with me?" he twiddled his thumbs out of nervousness.

"Dude, I don't even know your name, and you're expecting me to go on a date with you?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, my bad. My name is Reggie. Reggie Mantle," he said slipping his hands in his short pockets.

"Ok, there we go. Yea sure. I love some free food. You're paying right?" I asked. I'm not a gold digger, and I honestly don't care if I have to pay because it's for food. Plus I barely have any money because of gas for my car.

"Yes of course! Do you want to go after school? I don't have football today so I'm free," Reggie said in an excited tone. Man, this guy really was desperate. Or was I just irresistible? Probably both.

"Why not, I got nothing to do anyway. I'll meet you at Pops. I heard that place was the bomb," I basically just decided the place for us. I didn't even let him speak. I just walked away cause I was already getting tired of him.

It was finally the end of the day. Was I nervous? Yes, no hesitation. I don't know this guy. He could be a serial killer and I would never know. I heard a lot of shit went down here in Riverdale when I was gone. Some poor girl's dad in my grade was a serial killer named the Blackhood. A drugged board game. And a really creepy cult that harvests organs. Pfftt, how ridiculous.

I drove to Pops thinking I was a little late because I couldn't find it at first. I walked into the front door looking around for the random dude Reggie.

I saw him and he looked up. He waved his hand in the air for me to come to join him.

I stumbled over to him because I am very lazy. He tried to hold in a laugh but failed miserably. I gave him a death stare and he slowly stopped laughing. I took the seat across from him.
"I am a little clumsy," I admitted.

"Really? I could never tell. You could've fooled me," he laughed.

I stared at him as the owner of the restaurant greeted us.

"Hi, Reggie. You must be Heather. You really have grown up Heather, wow," Pop said in surprise.

"Nice to see you too Pop," I smiled remembering all the good times here.

"Reggie your usual I would guess?" Reggie nodded. "Hmm, let's see if I remember your order Heather. Chocolate milkshake with a basket of fries on the side," he guessed correctly.

"After all these years you still remembered my order," I let out a little chuckle.

We got our food. As we ate we got to know each other. Reggie is a pretty interesting dude. I would never want to be with him because I'm straighter than a circle. I didn't want to come out just yet because I want to see how safe it is before I do so. I would totally be friends with this guy.

He does give me a weird vibe though, I'm not sure why. He honestly would be good with Veronica. I did hear stuff at school about a place called La Bonne Nuit. I figured Reggie would know, so I asked him. He said it was a place underneath Pops that was a bar. He also mentioned Veronica owned it, which I thought was pretty cool.

He paid and I thanked him for it. I gave him my number so we can text every now and then.

I told him I was going to stay here for a little bit because my mom wanted to talk to me about something. He went home. My mom wasn't coming. It was a lie. Yeah, I feel bad about it, but I needed to get my thoughts together.

"So Reggie Mantle huh?" asked a voice as it slipped into the seat across from me where Reggie sat before. Another one followed sitting right next to the first person.

"I'm Kevin Keller and this is my boyfriend Fangs Fogarty," they smiled at each other. They looked so cute together.

"Nice to meet you guys. You guys seem like a cute couple," I said in all honesty.

"So what's happening with you and Reggie, Heather? Oh, and we know your name because it's going around school. And your Cheryl's ex," Fangs informed me.

"Oh shit, that's going around already," I facepalmed. "Welp, yea I guess I'm dating Reggie or something along those lines," I shrugged

"In all honesty, you look gay. That's definitely not a bad thing. But if you think it is then we will yeet you so far out of this town," said Kevin in positivity.

"Haha, yea I am. I just, well, I wasn't sure how to come out and if it was safe to come out. I know people are weird about it and it's so stupid," I sighed.

Fangs looked at his lover. "I think this will turn into a beautiful friendship," he proposed.

I nodded in agreement as I accessed my phone. I pushed my phone to them so they could put their contacts in.

A/N: Should Heather dump Reggie? Just a fyi, my personal computer which I usually write on is acting really weird. So I'm actually writing this on my school computer. I will post new parts on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Hope you liked this chapter!
