the rest of the evening went by way faster than nick anticipated. after the photo album incident earlier, everyone had been on their toes. karl had handed the album back to the british male, an unreadable expression on his face.

"i'm fine," karl had said in response to the numerous questions, regarding his well-being after finding out that nick was dead.

though, sapnap had told him a while before.

the goodbyes came and went as clay, george, and bad left the home. the tension that had built up, following behind them.

karl's mom had arrived home a while ago, forcing her son to take the prescribed medication. karl argued like he was still in grade school, but ended up losing the fight and took the pill.

"karl talk to me," sapnap practically pleaded, trying to get the silent treatment to subside.

karl, who hadn't talked to him in the past hour and a half, was playing on his computer. his eyes were glued to the screen as an array of colors splashed back on his porcelain skin. his eyes were crinkled up in concentration as wrinkles formed on his forehead. he wasn't listening as he continued to kill whoever was on his screen without hesitation. the sound of gunshots poured out of the speakers of his pc, filling the void of silence that was acting like a heavy stone in the room.

no response was given as karl didn't bother to tear his eyes away from the busy screen.

"karl."

"karl jacobs?"

"for god's sake karl, talk to me," sapnap groaned as he reached out to shake karl's shoulder, trying to get him to come back to reality.

"don't touch me."

sapnap physically flinched, hearing the hatred in karl's voice. something he never heard before. the venom sliced into his heart, adding on to the pain he was already feeling from his own problems.

"s-sorry," nick stuttered out, moving back into his position on the wall. the silence was suffocating as he glanced over at the boy, whose expression twisted from blank to frustration and anger.

the anger seemed to be aimed differently. karl was always upset at the world or his family. even the friends he's made along the way.

karl would lash out all his anger on them to feel better, instead of the man who put karl in the situation in the first place.

now the tables have turned.

all of karl's anger was now trained on a specific target.

sapnap.

so sorry for the small update, though it is key for the last chapters of this story. especially the way that karl has been and will be treating everyone now.

also this story is almost done! i'm planning on having three to four more chapters to end this book! then afterward, i'll be moving my attention to dreamer, which is my other karlnap fanfiction.

thank you all for 1.7k reads! i really appreciate the love and support that has been shown on this story so far. this has been a fun story to write this past month.
