CLOSE GATE
' told you. lovebirds. '· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
After realising what they have to do, they all got to work. Ashley went to find some scissors and tape, and found some tinfoil that could be used for the wall. She grabbed all her materials and headed outside and saw Nancy and Steve talking. They were both smiling. Her heart dropped to her feet, but she wouldn't show it. Ashley walked right past them, before Steve called her name. She turned around, and smiled at Nancy.
"I'll take those in for you." Nancy smiled as she took the tinfoil off Ash.
"How's the bandage?" Steve asked. Ash walked over to him and pulled up her shirt enough for him to see.
"You did a lot better job this time seeing as we weren't worrying for our safety as much this time." She smirked.
"Why, thank you." He laughed as he grabbed stuff that could be used.
"What were you and Nancy talking about, if you don't mind me asking?" Ash shyly asked.
"How we're okay with our break up and that we can see other people. I'm pretty sure she's dating Jonathan now." Steve tried to put a brave face on as he said the last line.
"I'm sorry, Steve." Ash said, looking for materials in the pile.
"Don't be. Now, I can do this." He grabbed her waist and pulled her close.
"Steve?" She gasped.
"Ash?"
"You're like, right on my scratch." She sighed with relief as he loosened his grip.
"Sorry." They both chuckled. They leaned closer, and closed their eyes as they felt each other's lips touch. Ashley rested her arms on Steve's shoulders as he held her by her waist.
"Told you. Lovebirds." Dustin said as he walked past them. Both Ash and Steve burst into laughter.· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
The others stayed in the house as Will's family, Hopper and Mike went in the shed. Ashley was pacing the floor, waiting for something to happen. Occasionally looking out the window every so often, she felt her breathing get heavier.
"Hey." Steve almost hummed as he placed his hand on Ash's shoulder. "It's gonna be okay. I'm here." She hugged him, hoping it would make all her fears go away. He held her hand, and pulled her towards the sofa to sit down. She laid her head on his chest. Her eyes were slowly closing until the door flew open with a bang as it hit the wall. Ashley jolted up, and saw Hopper with the others.
"What happened?" Dustin asked.
"I think he's speaking to us, just not with words." Hopper explained. Steve and Ashley walked up to the table together as they saw Hopper write dots and dashes on a piece of paper.
"What is that?" He asked.
"Morse code." Hopper said as he wrote H E R E.
"Will's still in there. He's talking to us."· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
The four continued to get Will to respond, as Ashley, Steve and the rest stood around the table, listening to Hopper's messages.

"Close gate." They all said in unison. A sudden noise distracted everyone. The phone was ringing. Ashley jumped up and ran to the phone, answered it and put it straight back on the stand. She shrugged her shoulders as the phone rang again. Ashley grabbed the stand and ripped it off the wall, throwing it to the floor.
"Do you think he heard that?" Max asked.
"It's just a phone. It could be anywhere. Right?"
Ashley watched as they all ran back in with an unconscious Will.
"Hey, do you know how to use this?" Hopper asked Jonathan. They all ran into the living room and protected each other.
"I do." Nancy said, taking the gun. Ashley held her metal pole as Steve held his bat. They all watched the windows and door as sounds surrounded them.
It went quiet, but quickly was filled with screams as a demo dog crashed through the window. Ashley was quick to stab it, but got slightly showered on with demo blood. She yelled in disgust and tried to wipe it off. As it lay still on the pole, she threw it on the floor.
"Is it dead?" She asked. The door started to creak, causing Steve to stand in front of Ash. A girl with slicked back hair and blood dripping from her nose entered.· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
