A/N: There's a 'flashback' in this chapter. It's not really a flashback but I needed a way to tell y'all what happened from Sky's perspective so that's how I decided to do it. It's a bit on the shorter side but I really just wanted to get this part out tonight. Enjoy!
"Josh? What's going on?" Ben asked him timidly, looking around. "Where is Sky?...".
Josh looked frantically around the backstage area trying to spot the redhead, but he couldn't see him anywhere. "I don't know...".
They both tried to find Sky but there was no luck. Both of them still had no idea what was going on. Ben made his was to the stage because that's where the most amount of people seemed to be crowded around and he saw Sky lying on the stage.
Both of them rushed to him, pushing through the sea of people, and knelt down next to him. "Sky, baby, what happened?" Ben asked, trying to hold back his tears as he comforted his boyfriend.
Sky was lying on his back, clutching at his knee and crying a lot. "It h-hurts Ben. Please make it st-stop!" He cried out in pain.
-Flashback-
Sky nodded and looked at Josh. "Yeah, I'm not hurt. I know my limits and you don't need to be so worried, so just let me deal with this myself" he said quite coldly and got up, making a mental note of the amount of pain that it caused him. A lot of pain. He walked back towards the stage. He needed to prove to everyone, and himself, that he wasn't as hurt as he thought. Besides, it was never a bad idea to practise tumbling because he would need to do it in the show later on anyway.
He got onto the stage and tried out just some very simple tricks, to make it look like he was warming up and just testing out the tricks to make sure he had them for later, which wasn't a complete lie. Just a cartwheel at first, that felt good. Then a back handspring, which was also okay.
He did a few more handsprings and decided that he could try without his brace on now, because he couldn't wear it for the show anyway, because it didn't work with the costume and he had grabbed his black one instead of his tan coloured one. He attempted one without the brace and, to his surprise, it felt okay. Not the best one that he's ever done, but not horrible. He tried it again and it felt the exact same.
Then, he decided that he needed to try one more thing. An aerial.
He prepared to do it, and he did it. Everything was fine... until he landed. His knee just gave out and he tumbled down to the floor, landing on his back. Immediately he knew something was wrong and the tears just flowed from his eyes as he clutched at his knee, crying out for help.
Nico rushed to him immediately from where he was also warming up on the stage. "Sky? Someone help!" He called out as he tried to calm sky down. "Hey, you're gonna be alright." He told him reassuringly as more and more people came over to see what had happened.
Chris came running over once he heard all the commotion. "Nico? Sky? What happened?" He asked, also trying to calm him down.
"I don't know. He was warming up one minute and then the next he was on the floor".
"Okay, okay. Hey, guys give us some room here!" Chris ordered and people started to step back a little, but they were still quite close to him.
Nico looked around to try and see where Ben was, but he was nowhere to be found. He then looked up at Anthony, who was also looking around for Ben as well, and asked "where is Ben? Do you see him anywhere?".
