It Can't Be Him

Chapter 3

Alexis

I wake up on cold concrete.

I look around and see I am in a cell with a concrete door and a small barred window on it. I walk up to the bars and grab them.

"Shit!" I screech and pull back quickly after a burn.

Silver Selena hisses like I am the stupidest person in the world.

Hey you can't blame me I have never been caught.

I look down at my hands and already see them reddening and blistering. 

I am pulled out of my thoughts when the door clicks and opens. I jump back and try to shift preparing to fight but I can't. I try again and just can't shift.

A guy about Johns age opens the door and notices my expression, "you can't shift, we've injected you with wolfs bane to keep you're wolf at bay. You also won't be able to mind link so don't try."

"What ever, what do you want?" I snap.

"The alpha wishes to speak to you."

"Well I don't wish to speak with him!" I spit. The guy doesn't respond just grabs my arms like he is made of steel. I can't do much unless I'm shifted because of how small I am.

He takes me down a hall and into a white room that reeks and has a chair with weird cuffs on the arms.

The guy sits me down and unclips the cuffs "The bottom of these are made of steel so you can relax your arms but try to struggle and the silver on top will burn you."

I don't respond but just glare at the guy. After a few minutes the door opens and the most attractive guy I have ever seen walks in. And I look up to glare at him but am lost in green eyes that are mesmerizing and I have seen twice before. And an amazing smell like a lake after it rains. I pull myself back to reality. Anger overwhelms me and I clench my fists. I think about how this guy killed my father and I move to attack him. I recoil and squeal as my wrist touches the silver.

"Who are you!" I hiss.

"That's the Alpha." The other guy says.

"What!" Thinking that this is that devil Hayes son.

But the guy is just looking at me all over before he reaches my eyes again and I stare straight into them. Glaring, I hold my stare ignoring how I feel about his eyes.

"Unlock her, now!" The Alpha says in a Husky voice.

"But Alph-"

"I said unlock her" He responds his voice rising. I am terrified now.

The guy that I assume is the beta unlocks me and the Alpha grabs my wrist. A warmth spreads through my body. But my fear quickly returns.

I can't die. Sure I always acted fearless but I have to stay alive. I'm terrified of what he'll do to me before he kills me.

The Alpha pulls me down a hallway.

"Please don't hurt me!" I beg and start to cry horrified.

"I would never hurt." You the Alpha says and looks at me with hurt in his eyes. I am confused but he just keeps pulling me along and up some stairs and out a door that he unlocks with key.

We are in a huge clearing and there are houses and some restaurants scattered throughout. We keep walking but the Alphas grip is less intense and he starts to walk towards a house thats huge.

He walks around it and on to a huge patio and through a sliding glass door. He takes me through a kitchen that is magnificent and up a grand staircase. We go down a long hallway and I start to get worried again. Selena tries to say something but I block her out knowing that I can't get distracted.

We walk up to a huge set of doors that we walk through.

I smell the smell everywhere and I can't help but stop and smell in the air. I am immediately relaxed and sigh.

The Alpha lets go of my hand and my eyes snap open seeing him standing in front of me smirking.

"Sit down" he motions toward the bed and turns too close the door. I have nothing to lose so I do and I let Selena through.

Mate! Mate! She cries delighted.

What!?

He is our mate go to him.

How can I have a mate? He would reject me right away. After all he is an Alpha and I am a wanted rouge. I have always dreaded this how is this happening!?

I look around looking for a window or a door and spot a balcony.

I jump up and sprint towards it. I slam the door open and take a running jump of the balcony shifting in mid air and start sprinting towards a big woods like a hundred yards away. I run towards it and start sprinting through the trees.

After about twenty minutes of running straight I get knocked to the ground by a force.

There is a shaggy brown wolf on me that I know is a rouge.

It shifts and tells me to shift too. I do it because he will probably kill me if I don't.

"Well you smell good don't you." The wolf says licking its lips I gag.

"What are you doing all by yourself. I don't see a mark so you can't have a mate. Maybe we should change that." He smiles and moves his head close to mine.

"I have a mate and he's an Alpha and he will kill you!" I scream trying to put strength in my voice. The rogue pauses scared for a moment but then his smirk returns.

I start to doubt myself too. Why would he follow me anyway if he was probably just gonna reject me.

"That I will." Says a voice full of anger and I look to see my mate shifting and jumping on the rouge. He rips the rouges chest open and throws it to the side.

He shifts and looks at me with a worried expression on his face "Did that vermin hurt you?"

"No" I whisper. I look at him to see him looking all over me and realize that I am stark naked and he is too. I rush to hide myself behind a tree.

"You are my mate you don't have to hide yourself."

"The last thing you did to me was sedate me I don't really trust you" and I shift. I come out and see the same Black wolf with silver tips that I saw the other day.

It comes up to me and rubs its muzzle against mine but I turn and run the direction we came knowing it was hopeless trying to get away.

He follows close behind with a watchful eye. When we reach the edge of the clearing the Alpha jumps and front of me and motions for me to stay then runs into the clearing.

A few minutes later the Alpha returns in human form with basket ball shorts and a tee shirt.

"Put this on" he tosses a shirt to me that is huge so it must be his. I pick it up with my mouth and walk behind a tree. I shift and change embarrassed at what I am wearing.

We go back into the big house that I assume is the pack house. We go up to what I assumed to be his room again.

He closes the door and walks to the balcony door and locks it. I roll my eyes.

"We need to talk."
