been a helluva 6 Months for the zoological agency Monarch, support for them and the Titans has increased more than ever, ever since Apex's dastardly plans to wipeout all the Titans was thwarted when their mechanical behemoth, Mechagodzilla was destroyed by the combined forces of Godzilla and Kong, with their plans exposed, Monarch liquidated 85% of Apex's operations.
At Monarch Outpost 61, the scientists Ilene Chen and her twin sister, Ling Chen are looking over the egg which had been found a year prior in Mothra's territory, not long after the great battle of Boston where Godzilla killed the evil King Ghidorah, reclaiming his stolen throne as King Of The Monsters. Both twins have been put in charge of the facility keeping an eye on the egg, patiently waiting for the imminent return of the Queen Of The Monsters, Mosura.
Ling: Weeks...maybe days, but definitely soon, can't wait
Ilene: neither can i, say Ling?
Ling: hm? What is it?
Ilene: remember Infant Island?
Ling: yes, our mother and aunt were on the island in 1961, it was Mothra's original home, why?
Ilene: when Mothra awakens again soon, it seems likely she'll want to see her home again, thing is: NO ONE has been on Infant Island since 61, that concerns me...
Ling: then why don't we plan an expedition? been 60 years now
Ilene: good idea, I'll begin prepping for the expedition, see you later *walks away*
As Ilene left, Madison Russell came in and looked at the egg from the control room.
Madison: like deja vu, hope this time no terrorists break in and shoot the place up.
Ling chuckled and explained to the young recruit.
Ling: security has been buffed up, surrounding areas been laced with cameras and sensors, it won't happen again.
Madison: can I come along with you both to this island?
Ling: *smiles* I don't see why not, tell Mark and if he's fine with it, you can come along.
Madison: great! *Looks at the egg again* can't wait to see Mothra again, hope she recognises us.
Ling: she will, each reincarnate passes their memories each and every time.
