Chapter 6: Separation

(A/N: I had originally posted this story to my tumblr account but I wanted others on another platform to see it, enjoy)

"Silver! Silver Where are you!?" Sam the Awoken Warlock of Fireteam Dozer was running down the stairs of the annex looking for her best friend, Titan Silver-3.

"Oh, There you are!" She said as she saw her teammate sitting next to the barred off door of the Black Armory.

"Yeah... I'm right here Sam" He said with a sad sigh as he barely lifted his head to look at her. He's been like this for months, especially since the Black Armory's reassignment

"Hey? What's wrong buddy? Why so... Oh right" she only just remembered the importance of the Black Armory to Silver, specifically the head of the Black Armory, Ada-1. A relationship which was proven by the ring on his finger.

"Silver...you know she's busy with really important work right now...right?" She said as she squatted down in front of him, trying to get him to look at her, when he did all Sam could see was a very depressed and sad expression.

"I know...I just really miss her" Ever since the paracausal fleet somehow managed to shutdown Rasputin and cause all of humanity's efforts to be focused on Project Stronghold, which drove Ada to help work on the project.

"Look, once this whole darkness thing is over, she'll be back! I know it." She said with her enthusiastic smile, Sam always was the most energetic of the fireteam.

"Easy for you to say, you're married to a lightbearer here at the tower!" He sharply snapped at her, it was true, she had been married to the crucible handler Shaxx for quite a while now. And everytime Ada had rarely returned to the tower, Silver was away on some mission or something else.

"T-true, but I know she'll be back dude, just trust me okay?" She said as she tried to convince her friend that Ada would be back

"I...I'm sorry...I just wish I could've gotten to say goodbye..." He said as he pulled his head in between his legs and arms curled up and began to lightly cry.

"Hey hey it's okay man, she's still alive, she's just away right now" She said as she tries to comfort her very upset friend

"I hope so" he said with a sigh

"Hey me and Max are headed out for a Crucible match, you in?" Sam asked her teammate. He then responds with a chuckle and looks up to look at her.

"Sam you know I hate crucible, I'm good, just say hi to Shaxx for me 'kay" He asked Sam.

"Heh...okay" She then walks up the stairs abd towards the courtyard.

When Silver returned to the doorway the next day after returning from a strike, he saw a little black box sitting by the doorway.

"Huh?" He said to himself as he walked over and picked up the object, it was a voice recorder with the Black Armory symbol on it. It was from Ada. He pressed the play button on the device, then a voice started playing, it was Ada's

"Hello Silver...if you're hearing this which I'm sure you are, I'm so sorry for leaving without being able to see you one last time. I'm sorry for having to leave you all alone, I can imagine dealing with the Vanguard all the time gets...frustrating. But I want you to know something okay? I want you to know that not a day goes by that I don't think about you, and I can't wait to come home to the tower, and to my husband once this is all over. I just want to let you know that I miss you so much and... I love you, bye now"

Once the recording stopped playing, Silver began to cry as he smiled. She hadn't forgotten about him. But then another recording began playing, it was Ada singing Le Temps De Cerises. Silver chuckled as he listened to the recording of his wife, maybe Sam was right, maybe she will be back.
