He sat at a table in the small cafe, sipping on his drink. It was still hot. And delicious.
Jungkook reached for the bag beside him, unzipping the largest pocket and pulling out his laptop. He opened it to his assignment. The one he was supposed to do last night. But he'd been so tired, and Yoongi-hyung had insisted he just go to sleep. He'd tried to argue, explaining he had an assignment due. But Yoongi just shook his head and pushed him into his room. So, Jungkook gave up. He went to sleep.
And now he had to do the assignment. He had an hour to get done what would probably take longer.
That's what you get for procrastinating, I guess.
He stretched his fingers in front of him before hovering them above the keys. And he got to work. His focus locked on the project in front of him, filtering out the tables around him slowly filling with people. He just worked, and before he knew it, 30 minutes had flown by. He was a little less than halfway done, and he groaned. "Will I really have to finish it in class?" he muttered.
He shook his head and went back to work.
After a few minutes, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He blinked, turning to look at the person interrupting him. It was a man with blond hair, and he was smiling brightly, his eyes almost disappearing.
"Hi, sorry to bother you. I just... the tables are all full, and I was wondering if I could sit here for a while?"
Jungkook leaned forward to look over the man's shoulder. He was telling the truth - every table had people sitting at it.
"Again, I'm so sorry for bothering you. I'd sit somewhere else, but... I don't know, you seemed nicest, I guess."
Jungkook stared at the man for another second before nodding. "Okay. Sure, you can sit here."
The man's smile brightened. "Thank you!" He slid into the seat across the table and pulled his backpack off his shoulder.
Jungkook went back to work for another minute before the other man spoke. "So... come here often?"
Jungkook shook his head. "Not really. I just came this morning to get coffee and finish my assignment." He gestured at his work.
"Ah, I see. What's it about?"
"We have to edit a short video. The only sound we're allowed to use is background music."
"Ah. That's why you don't have headphones?"
"Right. Then, when I finish editing this, I have to get it reviewed. I figured I'd just write up a review instead of having someone else do it."
The man tilted his head to the side. "If you finish and are still here, I'd be willing to review it."
Jungkook felt his eyebrows rise. "You... really?"
The blond nodded. "As long as you're okay with it, of course."
Jungkook thought for a moment. Pros? It meant he wouldn't have to fake a review. The stranger would also give a more honest review which could help him in the future. Cons? He couldn't think of any. "Okay, sure. It might be a while still, though."
The man nodded again. "No worries. I'll be here for a while anyway."
"Why?"
"Will I be here so long?"
"Mhm."
He shrugged. "Don't have much else to do. Also, my friend Taehyung works here," he gestured to a blue-haired man behind the counter. "I usually wait until his shift ends so we can walk to class together. Lucky us, our classes start at the same time."
