I just want to start off by saying a huge thank you to all who have supported me in this book. Without you, I probably wouldn't be writing this today. I never thought Broken Wings would get so much love and feedback, so honestly thank you so much for the votes, comments, and reads.
This book was incredibly heartbreaking to write; I literally cried along with my readers. Writing about Max's death was by far the hardest, probably because I loved his character so much, and it came on so suddenly. His death was also very inspiring, however, and good things came out of it, as they did with Else's. Betrayal and confusion were key in this book, and I made sure to make it obvious in the characters' emotion. The Holocaust and Nazi Germany were such tragic times, and sadly betrayal played a huge role in the time.
This book was started on December 27th, 2014; and was completed on February 12th, 2015. Without your comments, this could not be done, for it motivated me to write 1000 words every single day. And might I add that I did not miss one day, thanks to all the support I received. It took a lot of my time, but it was for sure worth it.
I'd like to thank all the wonderful people who worked so hard to edit this novel and make it the book it is today: SamMaze , sovthampton , LoveIsPatient_ , @literaryawakening , and jgfairytales . I am so appreciative of the priceless feedback they gave me.
Lastly, I want to end by saying this: never forget the Holocaust. A major study showed that out of 53,000 people, only 54% had ever even heard of it. That fact saddened me very much when I read that, and I hope that it changes someday.
Sadly, people around the world are being placed in concentration camps, and targeted for their religion to this day. Never forget the Holocaust, and remember those who have suffered and are suffering today.
