Autumn's POV:

Cotton candy litters the sky.

Well not quite, soft clouds that look like cotton candy litter the sky. They lock in battle with the harsh rays of the sun, the shady clouds emerging victorious.
A small and welcome breeze flutters through my oversized denim jacket and in my hair, it whispers to my lashes and caresses my face as I walk under the changing weather, the happy weather quickly turns it's smile the other way around and the winds get harsher and the clouds thicken the sky and my nose turns pink from the harsh cold.

I finally reach the school building.

I haven't thought about Alessandro or the fight all week-end, but now I am going to have to face the facts and be brave and find out once and for all the truth. So many things seem to be hidden from my knowledge these days; stowed away in some secret cabinet locked away from the little human.
A mission that was supposed to be mine to complete, was supposedly 'called off' because the werewolf base they were looking for had been found, it actually wasn't, they just thought I am not suitable enough for the job.
Things like that truly make my confidence crater, I can literally see it sink and that makes me feel even more insecure for some reason.

I enter the old familiar building, the blowing wind and slight patter of the rain abruptly halts and warm air from the inside envelopes me into a relaxing atmosphere. I navigate my way around the hallways and find my first class right after registration, Math.

'Ew'

Math is my least favorite subject, I could have sworn they change the rules every time I look them up, but I do try my hardest. I open the door to walk in-

and freeze on the spot.

On the seat in front of mine is slumped none other than Alessandro; his head snaps in my direction and he eyes the cast on my arm for half a second before he looks away and sits completely still in his seat. He doesn't look like he's breathing either.

I slowly start walking towards my seat, sitting down once I reach it.
I can see him visibly tense up in front of me; he still refuses to move and continues staring at a spot on his desk.

Now's the perfect time to make sure he isn't a vampire.

The first thing that comes to mind is blood, most vampires can control their blood lust, but it wouldn't hurt to try, and I can notice small behavioral changes.

The teacher, Ms. Wilson, finally walks into class just as the bell rings, and goes to her desk. She sets down her things on her desk and looks around the classroom, she then sits down and types something on her computer.

"I'm taking the register," she announces. She starts listing off names and I hastily reply when she says mine, my hand slowly snakes to my boot trying to reach the dagger I always keep there -you never know when it comes handy- but the teacher keeps looking around. I silently sigh.

I wait around for a couple more minutes, the tension still apparent in Alessandro's shoulder as he refuses to move. I silently try to hold in a laugh only half succeeding. This seems so cliché, the teacher doesn't seem to notice me laughing.
He, on the other hand, does, and half turns his head in my direction before catching himself and straightening his posture.
