We get in the train. I help Haymitch to his room then head to my room. I take a shower. This year is going to as dreadful as any. Maybe even worse. Katniss Everdeen. Her father was my best friend. I remember him now. He was the best hunter there was. He was an even better singer though. I only heard him sing once, and I'll never forget it. Sigh.
When I get out the shower and towel off, I put on a white blouse and a pair of black jeans and a pair of socks.
By the time I'm done, Effie's knocking on my door, calling me to dinner. When I get to the table, I see Katniss and Peeta are waiting. No Haymitch. Expected. We dig in to our food. "At least you two have decent manners. The pair last year ate like a couple of savages. It completely upset my digestion." Effie says.
The pair last year was a couple of kids from the seam who have never had a decent meal in their lives. When I was young and before I was reaped, I was one of those kids.
It takes everything in me to not reach a cross the table and slap that pink wig and 10 pounds of makeup off her face.
Katniss doesn't take it lightly either. She makes a point of eating the rest of her food with her fingers and when she's done, wiping her fingers on the white tablecloth. I stifle a laugh and smirk as Effie purses her lips tightly. Effie glares at me. That pushes me over the edge. I laugh loudly. It's just to funny. Sigh.
Effie starts talking about Haymitch. After Effie shouts something Haymitch comes into the room. "I miss super?" He asks. He suddenly vomits on the floor and falls in it.
"So laugh away!" Effie exclaims and flees the room, her pointy shoes tapping on the floor.
