The Girl in His Shadow (Harry Potter Universe)

Platform 9 3/4 pt II

A/N Just wanted to let you all know Rosalie plays Quidditch and plays for the Slytherin team. She's the Slytherin's Beater. While Harry was being discovered as a Seeker, Snape recruited her. She and Harry are the youngest Quidditch players in a century. And this chapter takes place during the Chamber of Secrets.

It was just a few days before Harry's birthday. Rosalie, Elio, and Cordelia had planned to stay at the Burrow. The Weasley's home. They had planned to spend the rest of the summer there to then all go to King's Cross, to head back to Hogwarts, or in Rose's case home for their second year.

Last year it was discovered around Halloween that Harry and Rosalie are siblings. Their friendship was close already, and now it's developed into a relationship sibling-wise. Rosalie was slightly mad at her Uncle Moony for not telling her sooner. But she ultimately forgives him. In return, he retold the night of her parent's murder, very reluctantly. Leaving out the part about who her Godfather is, which irks her very much. But she'll be patient with who he is. She understands why she wasn't there now, everything fell into place.

After speaking with Harry and learning more about him, she knows she shouldn't, but she pities her older brother for the living situation he is forced to endorse. And she hates the way things are that he can't live with her, or even her with him so he's not alone. According to Harry, the Dursleys knew of him having a little sister, as did he. But they never attempted to go looking for Rosalie. Bittersweet for the Potter siblings knowing of one of the other but not knowing where the other is in the world.

Rosalie has been worried all summer. She and the twins have spent all summer sending owls to Harry to have received none in return. And from what she has heard from Hermione and Ron, they've gotten the same result. Rosalie had spent the summer writing to Cora, Cedric, the  Weasley twins, Libbi, and even Oliver. Her uncle even allowed her to spend some time with Libbi at Malfoy Manor, and Libbi and she has become so close. And she even got to know an unseen side of Draco, than she did at school and found it pleasant.

They've grown to have a kind of bully/friendship and it's kind of adorable in Libbi's eyes, although she has her eye on her little brother on not hurting the Potter girl. Even as friends.

Cordelia walked into Rosalie's room, the morning they were leaving, to see Rosalie asleep on her bed upside down with her reading glasses still on her face and her book on her chest. Cordi was silently awed. She looked around the room and saw all her things ready for the following year, and saw Rose's cat Bella asleep next to Rose's trunk. Cordi silently walked out of the room.

Cordelia walked into Elio's room and saw the long-haired beauty reading up plays for Quidditch, he was trying out. And he's very determined to impress the captain to prove he's worthy to be on the team without Rosalie or Libbi threatening the poor captain or having even Draco pull strings. Rosalie and Libbi had assured the eldest Black twin that they weren't going to do such a thing even though Libbi was very reluctant to promise but in the end, came through. Draco, although, said no promises.

Cordelia assured her older brother many times that he'd get in on pure talent. Elio believed her but still had his doubts, but knew if he believed enough in himself, he could do anything he put his mind to. "Hey, El you all packed the Burrow?" Cordelia asked Elio "Yea I got everything I just finished, are you done?" Cordelia nodded "Yeah just got to finish packing all my books and pick a book to read on the train" Elio nodded and chuckled at her love of reading, just like Rosalie.

As Cordelia turned around she was finishing up packing her books when Elio talked, "Hey Cordelia" The youngest of the twins turned around "Have you talked to Theo this summer?" At the mention of his name Cordelia blushed, she nodded her head. "I have almost every day. We've sent owls to each other with letters. The book I'm going to read on the train, he sent it to me, as a gift." Elio nodded with a smile on his face, happy for his sister. "He told me to save him a seat in our compartment and expects me to tell him about how I feel about the book so far AND he wants me to read a little to him, how cute is that El?" asked Cordelia "It sounds like to me that not only does he have a crush on you," Cordelia'a eyes widen at the thought and mention of it "but a little Mrs. Cordelia Eloise Black has a tiny crush on a Mr. Theodore Nott" Cordelia blushed big time at her brother's statement.
