EVAN'S P.O.V.
She was dead.
She was dead.
She was dead.
She was dead.
It ran threw my head hundreds of times.
I looked at her again.
She was on the ground, leaning against the tree. Her eyes were closed and there was blood everywhere.
Hollie and Kristanna were sitting on the ground next to her crying. I couldn't move. I just couldn't.
Frank, Andrew, Chris, and Steven stood by each other, watching Syrinia.
The rest of the guys stood off to the side, watching with sad faces.
I heard Chris snicker.
I snapped.
I stomped over there and punched him. He fell back. I started beating him. The other guys attacked Andrew, Steven, and Frank.
When I didn't see Chris's chest rise and fall I stopped. I checked his pulse. There wasn't one.
Steven was dead and so was Frank. Andrew had a knife with him so nobody attacked him.......except me.
I charged him and grabbed the knife I stabbed him right where Syrinia was stabbed. I pulled the knife out and stabbed him again and again. He was dead.
I got off of him and backed up.
I looked at them disgusted. There all asses.
The guys walked back to the shore. I stayed with Syrinia.
Soon the sun started coming up. Hollie and Kristanna left.
I still didn't leave Syrinia's side.
When the sun was fully up I moved her into the shade. I brushed her hair out of her face.
After 2 days I still didn't leave. Some of the guys would bring food and drinkable water.
When the third day came Hollie, Kristanna, and some other mer-people came to collect her body.
They put her in a casket that was made.
Te color was aquamarine and there were coral pieces all over it. Then in shells it said 'SYRINIA'. There were sand dollars that outlined it. They put her in and brought the casket to the shore.
The mer-people left and Hollie and Kristanna stayed.
Hollie came up to me. "we h-have to get her b-body ready. We are s-suppose to d-dress h-her and...." she broke into tears. Kristanna comforted her.
"we have to put clothes on her and comb out her hair and put sea flowers in her hair". Kristanna said.
She and Hollie went into the water and came back with some stuff. They had a comb, a bunch of sea flowers, and some cloth. Then I remembered the locket.
"wait! I have to get something". I said.
I put on one of the air tanks and went into the water. I went to her cave and swam in.vi looked threw her stuff and found the Southampton locket. I went back to the surface.
I walked towards the casket and put the necklace around her. Hollie started brushing her hair while Kristanna put grey cloths around her chest and waist. They started putting flowers in her hair.
Once they finished they put the top back on the casket. Then mer-people started coming out of the water.
They circled the casket. Me and the rest of the guys stood off to the side.
Hollie asked anyone if they wanted to say something.
Some people did. She asked for anymore people. She looked at me when she said that. I went up to her and looked at the casket in front of her.
"Syrinia said nobody understood her or even liked her. But now I see people actually did care about her. I am one for example. I didn't just care for her. I loved her. More than anything. Syrinia was nice, sweet, cared for people, her people, her family. She was amazingly beautiful. The best thing about her is that she didn't care what people thought of her. She still kept secrets but she did it because she knew se had to. She collected things. Weird human things that she came across. The locket she is wearing is something a human wore. But she still wears it better", Hollie laughed. "she was just amazing and it's a shame that she is dead. I.....probably won't be able to go on but hopefully everyone else can". I finished.
I walked off into the forest. I stopped at a small, misty creak.
I kneeled down and touched the water. Something grabbed my had. I pulled it back.
Then a hand came out. It grabbed my hand and tried pulling me in. I stood up and the hand got pulled with it, along with the person.
It was.........Syrinia?
"syrinia?" I asked.
She nodded.
"how? I though you were dead". I said.
"I am dead". She said and disappeared into the mist.
I looked around for her but couldn't come across her.
I called her name but still couldn't find her. Then a had came on my shoulder.
I turned hoping for Syrinia. But it was Hollie.
"you shouldn't come here. This creak is magical. It shows you what you want to see. Don't trust it. We have to go". Hollie said.
I looked back at the creak."she seemed so real".
"I know. It always seems real. I saw my parents last time I came here. I thought they were real". She said.
She pulled me away.
I came to the shore and she went into the water and swam away. I sat on a fallen tree, think about stuff.
"Evan". I heard a voice whisper.
I turned to where the voice came from. I didn't see anything.
I started walking towards the guys who were still building.
Most of it was done. They just had a wall and the door. And small details.
I went inside. There was a curtain that was made of leaves that leads to 8 beds. Behind another curtain was an area to do your business. Then when you walk in is a small bar that Chris made. And bar stools. There was a couch made of leaves and some other things.
I laid on one of the beds. There were only 6 of us now. Ronald came in and went to one of the beds. Soon Harry came in and Jake. Then Niall came in. Then Ben. There were still two beds. The beds weren't very comfortable but they were good enough.
Niall stood up and went outside. I followed. Everyone followed.
I saw him grab a piece of wood and carve something in it. He stuck it in the sand and then walked back to bed. I walked closer to it to see what it said.
'Syrinia'
'R.I.P.'
'Syrinia, a mermaid, the little mermaid who collected things'
I smiled when I saw the sentence. I walked back to bed.
