Chapter Twenty-Six

(RACHEL'S POV)

“Please?”

“No,”

“C’mon Rachel don’t be impossible,”

I rolled my eyes, “I am not being impossible,”

“Yes you are,”

“No I’m not,”

“Yes you are,”

“No I’m not,”

“Yes you are,”

“No I’m not,”

“Rachel if you don’t get out of bed in three seconds and don’t do something productive I will-“ Patrick was cut off by the sound of my ringtone blaring out. I smirked at Patrick evilly and reached my hand over to pick up the phone and tap on the accept button, “Hello?” I answered groggily.

“Rachel where are you?! Your shift started like half an hour ago!” Maya yelled through the other side of the phone. Shit, I had forgotten I had work today.

“Ugh,” I groaned, “I’ll be there in a few,”

“You better hurry up or else Alice will become Godzilla!”

I winced at that thought. Alice was the manager at the café and she wasn’t exactly the brightest crayon in the box. She always looked so strict and whenever anyone was late she would tell you off and give you the longest lecture about how being on time is important. And then for the rest of the day she would just go back to her usual angry and unhappy mood.

“Fine,” I hung up and put my phone back down on the small coffee table next to my bed. I pushed the duvet off and slowly got out of bed heading straight for my closet to get out a pair of clothes for the day. Patrick cheered when he saw what I was doing.

“Well it’s about time!”

I quickly ran to my bed, grabbing the first pillow I saw and chucked it at him. This was going to be a long day.

--

“Thank you and have a nice day!” I chirped to the couple that had just left the café. They both returned warm smiles and headed out the door, back into the busy streets of London. I walked back over to the counter and sat behind the cash register, placing my palm under my chin, leaning on one elbow against the counter and observing everything that was around me. Maya was currently taking a man’s order, he looked like a businessman considering that he was wearing a suit and a tie, along with a briefcase placed on the floor below him. A few other tables and booths were occupied with seniors, couples, and mothers with their children. I sighed, for now everything was good.

The sound of the door being burst open and figures running straight in the café and right into a booth broke my thoughts. As they sat down, they quickly put the menus to hide their faces. Except I could’ve sworn I saw curls and blonde hair as the figures rushed in. Oh god, they wouldn’t. Soon I heard low snickers coming from the booth and I didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to guess who it was.

After the boys rudely entered, an old couple walked in and sat themselves down at a table. I got a pad and a pan and walked up to their table, passing by the boy’s booth in the process just to annoy them.

“Hello what can I get for you two today?”

“Rachel what about us!” Louis called from their booth. I rolled my eyes yet kept my smirk and ignored his call as I kept my focus on the couple.
