( this lemon may be a little cringy, sorry if it is )My eyes flew open, breathing heavily. I was staring at an orange sky. Something was steaming in front of me. My elbows dug into the ground behind me, pushing me up. A titan's body was crouched down, blood spilled on the ground beneath it, and a shoe. Everything came back to me. Transforming into a titan, grabbing Robin, begs for mercy and screams while he was being brought up to my mouth. My parents, dead, inside my house. The only clothing I had on was a shirt, my jeans, harnesses, and brown boots.
I wanted one last thing from my home to remember my family by. I walked back inside the house and went to my old room. It had changed a lot, new and fancy-looking shelves with a new bed in place of the old mat and a dull wooden tray. Had they gotten this ready for me when I would return home? I grabbed the old necklace that my father had managed to buy me on the night before the mission. That evening I had forgotten it. Before I went back outside, I looked down. Luckily my gear was still attached to my harnesses. I peered around, shooting back in the direction where I left my horse.
The brown horse was sitting there. Just laying there, acting as nothing happened. I quickly untied the horse, climbing onto it and galloping out of the forest. Sweat ran down my forehead violently. Did I just kill an innocent man? He gave up his life to pass on that titan. Wall Sina wasn't that far away. It only took about five minutes to get there. I could even see it, the gray structure in my field of view. My hands squeezed and pulled the reins tighter, making my horse go a little bit faster. We reached the open gate, finally.
I slipped inside, dodging carts and people crossing the streets. The overpowering guilt made it seem like forever to drop my horse off at the stables. The minute I got into my room, the door was slammed shut, I took off my ODM and harnesses, my boots, and I flopped onto my bed. I wonder what would've happened if I got to my parents earlier. Their deaths would've been prevented. My trembling fist balled up, banging it on the nightstand several times.
" Shut up in there, you earsplitting shit, "
A boy called through the door. I got up, threw open that door, and grabbed him. It was one of those boys from the bathroom.
" I warned you. "
His eyes were widened, and he stuck his arms out. They flailed all around the place.
" Wait, wait, wait! I'm sorry! Please, forgive me! "
The doors of the girls and boys on the second floor opened, and people peeked out. Someone grabbed my hand, peeling each finger from the boy. He dropped to the ground. My head snapped over to the person. A hand was stuck in my face, and I was pushed back in the direction I came from. The bang of the door rang through my ears. There was also a small click.
" What the hell are you so mad for? Have you been crying, you got my hand all wet dumbass. "
Annie pulled her hand away from my face.
" Get out, now! Even if I told you- "
Annies small hands grasped the waistband of her hoodie. She began to pull it up. I quickly closed my eyes,
" Stop! Don't take it off, "
I spoke. Annie let out a small ' hm ',
