You hummed to yourself, the music of the city singing in your ears. You felt kinda sad leaving your home city, but this was your choice.

You left your family because 1), You were old enough. 2), You didn't like the small house, your parents.

You just packed up your stuff and left, didn't even leave a note.

You only sent your parents one text in the family group chat; Bye.

You stopped at a bus stop and looked around, noticing a flower shop nearby.

It seemed to beckon you, to bring you closer.

"Hm."

You looked both ways and crossed the street, practically running to the other side.

You opened the door and walked in, the bell above the door ringing.

"Hello! Welcome to Marline's Flower Shop! How can I help you?" The only person inside said.

You stared at the flowers, your eyes glancing over some of them, sometimes pausing to inspect them.

"Sorry." You said.

The person laughed. "It's alright. What flowers are you looking for?"

You stayed silent, walking over to some dark red carnations.

"Can I have some of those?"

"Uh, sure!" The person opened the poly-glass and pulled out a few of the flowers. "Any more flowers in mind?"

"Do you have any white or yellow chrysanthemums?" You asked.

The person stayed silent for a few second before mumbling something. "Please wait here."

"Alright."

The person went to the back of the shop, probably where his boss was. He came back a few minutes later holding the requested flowers.

"Sorry about that, we don't really get that many requests for chrysanthemums." He put the flowers next to the carnations. "Are those together or no?"

"Not together." You said. "But can you put one carnation with one chrysanthemum please?"

"Sure thing ma'am." He put the flowers separate but kept one of each flower together. "Anything else?"

"Can you send the chrysanthemum to this address please?" You handed him a note with your address on it.

He nodded after smiling. "Sure thing! That will be $6.50 ma'am."

You took the flowers in one hand and took out your wallet. Pulling out a 10, you smiled at him. "Keep the change."

You left the flower shop, dropping the smile as soon as you left the shop.

You never could show your emotion long, not without faking it. You had learned to keep such horrid things under lock and key.

Emotions to you were a hassle, a burden. You found everything easier to just not have them. You locked them away and learned to fake.

You sighed and checked your watch, mumbling. You turned and walked away from the shop, towards someplace different.
