Stars

You waved everyone goodbye, the sun now way past the horizon and the moon was full.

Mark wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you closer, watching the last car leave.

You blushed slightly, but you smiled. "Yes?"

"Lets go up on the roof, the stars are extra bright tonight." He said.

You nodded, letting Mark once again guide you to the room, and going through the hatch and onto the roof that held the two lawn chairs.

You waited until the last cloud passed over the stars. You laid down on the chairs and stared up, the shine from the stars above you instantly making you happy.

Mark stayed standing up though, his hands in his pockets. He was faced towards the sky, eyes closed.

He was humming a tune that you faintly remembered, although you didn't want to remember.

You heard shuffling beside you, and you sat up to look at him.

He was on one knee, holding something in his hand.

Your eyes widened, and you instantly know what he was going to do.

"I love you (y/n), and I really want to spend the rest of my life with you. I understand if you don't want too, but at least it was worth a try." He chuckled, him opening the small box and revealing an engagement ring of deep blue opal.

A few tears fell from your eyes, and you nodded. "Yes! Yes, Mark, I will!" You fell into him, hugging him tightly.

He hugged you back, burying his face into the bend of your neck. "Oh good, I really didn't want to return this ring."

You laughed and kissed him, pulling away a few seconds later to let him put on the ring.

"I love you too, Mark." You said, resting your forehead on his.

He chuckled. "I bet I love you more."

You smiled. "Are you sure about that?"

"Nope!"

You closed your eyes. "Good."

You and Mark sat there for a few minutes, when Mark spoke up.

"So, when you want to have kids?" (for legal reason, this is a joke-)

Your face turned red and you gasped. "MARK!!"
