Ch. 6: Juliet's Conviction

I look towards Ishani, hoping it to not be true. But I'm wrong. Ishani is wearing identical hair pins in her hair. "That is mine, if that's what you are asking. But I assume you mean why it was there. I am sure you could figure it out." Ishani says, not showing a hint of panic.

"You were at the murder scene? Why didn't you tell us?" Hina asks. "Are you joking? Or are your minds really that feeble? I guess I must tell you sad excuses for humans. Ishani is the murderer." Byakuya accuses, pointing at her. "N-no way! That isn't possible! She would never do that!" Chihiro says.

"Yes, but there was crucial evidence at the crime scene connecting her to the murder." Celeste says. "What if someone framed her?" Sakura asks. "I agree! It doesn't match with some of the other evidence found!" I say. "Oh? And pray tell, what is that?" Byakuya asks. "The incinerator. I found what looked like shattered remains of a glass ball and a burnt off white shirt cuff with a blood stain." I say. "Is that what happened to my crystal ball?! Aw man...that thing costed me a fortune." Hiro sighs.

"Ishani does not wear a white button up! She is clearly wearing a dress!" Taka says. "Which supports that she was framed. But what of the crystal ball?" Celeste asks. "Hifumi, you said that you turned the incinerator off when you used it last night, but it was on this morning." I say. "Yes, that is true." Hifumi says, pushing up his small, round glasses. "So how the fuck did it get turned on?" Mondo asks. "It's simple. The killer threw the crystal ball through the gate bars and turned on the incinerator." Kyoko says. "I dunno man, seems like a bit of a stretch to me. Could someone really do that?" Hiro asks. "T-the distance is quite far." Chihiro says.

"I disagree! It might be impossible for any normal person, but someone with exponential throwing abilities could. Someone like the Ultimate Baseball Star! Which is you, Leon Kuwata!" I say. "Woah, woah, woah! You seriously think I did it?! First you blame Isha, and then me?! What the hell man?!" Leon asks angrily. "It couldn't of been anyone else. No one besides you could of made that throw, not to mention your shirt cuffs match the bloody cuff we found by the incinerator." I say. "That's all circumstantial bull shit! A bunch of people have those types of sleeves!" Leon says.

"That isn't enough to convince you? Well let's move on in the case. Makoto's bathroom door seemed odd, do you want to tell them why?" Kyoko asks, looking at me. "You're talking about my doorknob right? It was practically falling off. It definitely was not like that last night. It looked like it had been screwed off." I say. "Alright Leon, if you are truly not guilty, then show us your tool kit. If it shows even the smallest sign of being open, be ready to explain why till each and every one of us is satisfied." Byakuya says. "And 'I don't know' will not work in this situation." Kyoko says. "What the fuck?! This is stupid! Stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid! A damn set up! That's what it is-" Leon rants.

"Enough." Ishani says sternly, cutting him off. "Isha?" Leon asks. "He's not the killer." Ishani states firmly. "How can you make such a bold statement when clearly the evidence is against him? Are you really that stupid?" Byakuya says. Ishani's clam expression drops into on that looks highly annoyed. "Alright. Enough with this dumb act. Look at the facts closer, idiots." Ishani says. "Some nerve talking like that to me." Byakuya says. What's wrong with her? Her entire demeanor has changed. "Shut up. Your high and mighty talk annoys the heck out of me." Ishani snaps.

Byakuya has a look of brief surprise before returning to his previous, emotionless state. "What do you mean, look at the clues closer?" Hina asks. "Somewhere you guys went wrong in the argument. You also ignored a crucial piece of evidence. We're all going to die if you guys keep messing it up." Ishani says.

"The footprints! I almost forgot!" I say. "So what's that mean? Do we just have to look at everyone's shoes to find the murderer?" Hiro asks. "I can save you the hassle. The prints are boot prints. Only three people here wear boots, and one of them is dead." Kyoko says. "Which means the prints are either Ishani's or Kiyotaka's." Celeste says.
