A planned practice

Momo's POV

I can't believe break is around the corner. I'm almost halfway through my 3rd year... that's crazy.

Haru and I have been spending a lot more time together these past four months since Makoto has been busy doing things. He hasn't told either of us what it is but we are meeting with him this weekend for lunch so I'm guessing it will be then. I also haven't really hung out with Miko that much either... she seems to be swimming a lot with Natsuya. They're probably just making up for lost time since they haven't swam together in forever.

"Hey Momo do you still practice tennis after school on Fridays? Did you want to practice together? I don't have swimming practice today so I thought I'd ask you since we haven't played in awhile" Haru asked me. I felt my heart skip a beat. "You want to play tennis with me?" I was kind of shocked. I asked him a couple of times since Makoto has been busy but it always interfered with his swim practices. "Well yeah. You've been so patient waiting since you asked me so I wanted to return the favor and play with you" He looked away and scratched the back of his head. He's so cute... "Okay meet me at my house after school since you don't have a change of clothes" He had a small grin on his face "No need for me to go home. I brought clothes with me because I knew I wanted to practice with you. So after school we can just walk to the court together" I gave him a quick nod with a smile. My eyes got wide. He planned on practicing with me? Did he really want to? No stop over thinking. He was the one who planned this... he even brought extra clothes.

When the school day finally ended the two of us headed for the tennis court gym near my house. We both changed into our spare outfits and started playing tennis. "Wow Haru you still kind of got the hang of this even though its been awhile." I kept hitting the ball passing it back to him. 'Yeah I'm surprised just as much as you are that I can still hit the ball" The two of us laughed and continued playing for another hour.

"I'm tired what about you Haru. Do you want to stop?" I sat down on the bench and drank some water. "Yeah I'm done for the day that was fun Momo thanks!" I looked confused as to why he was thanking me. "I should be thanking you! You planed to come practice with me. I really appreciate it" He gave me a big smile "Want to stop by a convenient store and get some popsicles?" Haru said looking over in y direction. "It's cold outside and you want to get popsicles haha" "Well we are sweating and its not to far down the road. Plus I've been craving one for awhile now" I laughed "Sure lets go!" The two of us packed our things up and headed for the super market.

When Haru and I walked out of the store with our popsicles my phone went off. It was from Makoto.

To: Momo
Hey are you and Haru together? Can you meet me at the park near your house? I want to talk to you two about something.

That sounds kind of suspicious... MAYBE HE'S FINALLY GOING TO TELL US WHY HE'S BEEN SO BUSY! I looked over at Haru. "Makoto wants to meet us at the park near my house. He said he wants to talk to us about something" He looked off onto the opposite side of the street then back at me. "Okay do you want to start heading over there now?" I nodded and the two of us walked to the park.

By the time we arrived Makoto was there. "Hey you two... You guys seem to have gotten pretty close" He had a smile on his face. "Well yeah that's because you've been so busy Koto" I answered him. "Right... that's exactly what I called you here I wanted to apologize and explain why I've been so busy. I was planning on telling you this weekend when we were going to go out but I think now is the right time" Both Haru and I looked at each other then back at Makoto. "Okay what's been up with you? You're making it sound like your in an engagement or something" Haru asked him. "Well... I met this girl and we've been starting to get to know each other and hang out. I didn't want to tell you guys because I wanted to make sure that both her and I really wanted to be something" Awwww Makoto met a girl. THAT'S SO CUTE. "You don't need to apologize Makoto. I'm happy for you" My heart filled with joy for his happiness. "Yes me too... So are you two dating?" It went quiet... "Well no I haven't officially asked her to be my girlfriend but we've been hanging out a lot and is starting to know each other better. So soon I will ask her" I walked up to Makoto and gave him a big hug. " I'm happy you've found someone you care about. Please stay happy for me okay?" I released from the hug. "Yeah I will... And I promise you will meet her soon" He said looking at both Haru and I. "Take your time... But I should start walking Momo home it's already 5 I don't want to keep her out super late." Haru started messing with his jacket zipping it up all the way to his chin "Yeah no problem you two get home safe" I waved goodbye as the two of us walked off.

"I'm glad Makoto found someone. He looks a lot happier now" Haru said with a smile on his face. I wondered if Haru liked someone the way Makoto does for that girl. I wasn't going to ask him... That would be too intruding on his personal privacy. "Well here we are. Thanks for walking me. Text me when you get home so I know you go there safe" I opened up the gate leading to where my front "Yeah no problem. And yes I will text you when I get home" We waved goodbye and I headed into the house.

I walked upstairs turned on the hot water and sat in the bath. Maybe this is why Haru likes soaking in the water. I don't blame him it feels nice. I got out, brushed my hair and put clean pajamas on for bed. I reached for my phone and saw that I had 2 messages. One was from Miko. And the other from Haru and Makoto.

Hey everyone I hope you all had a good last day of school now that we're on break! I was walking home from the pool and saw a poster of a New Years festival and I thought that we should all attend. I hope to see you all there! Have a good night!

Makoto~ I hope you guys are planning on going to the New Years festival so we can hang out together. I am going to go
Haru~ I plan on going too

I put my phone down and laid on my bed before I got another notification. It was from Haru-

Hey I just got home and wanted to let you know I arrived safely like you asked me too. Anyways I'm glad you're going to the festival... we can spend time together. I'm going to shower then pass out. Sleep well~

I felt my hart start to race and I fell asleep thinking of what the New Years festival would be like with him.
