Hi guys, so as you already know (or not) this is an OC. Your name is Haruka Tenoh (ring a bell anyone? You also coincidentally have the same voice as her/him in this story) and you are a wolf spirit (A bit like the one in princess Mononoke.), but you can hide that well. Even from other powerful spirits. You are disguised as a human as many are hunting you down for a reward from a powerful and jealous spirit. This first chapter is a little violent, you have been warned!!!! I have a thing for short hair, pls don't judge me...And yes I have also realized this is a sort of crossover, but only with this character.
Enjoy! (edited)
(3RD POV)
Humans are so gullible, telling a simple lie and getting away with it was easier than she thought.
The harsh gravel crunched beneath her shoes as she walked back from Jindai senior high school, thoughts wandering back to the heated conversation she was in just moments ago.
A group of several stocky boys and girls approached Haruka earlier, cornering her at the side of the school building and pressing onto why she was barely at school, but still aced every class there was. If she was a freak.
Haruka simply said that she had an Asian mother and studied a great deal at home, and that same very scary mother that would beat the hell out of anyone who would get in the way of her studying.
That simple white lie scared them off.
A chuckle erupted from the back of her throat just thinking about that, the expression on their faces was priceless. The spirit replayed the scene over and over in her head as she continued walking into the forest, one of the only places that made her feel at home.
But something caught her attention.
The blood-curdling scream of a little girl in the distance.
Without thought her legs propelled themselves forwards, running at a frightening pace to find out who or what it belonged to. Trees and branches snapped at Haruka, threatening to give several angry red marks.
She raced into a part of a forest that she had never been before, her surroundings new and unfamiliar, but the thought of being stranded in these forests didn't have any effect on the girl.
Her scent and trail will be easy to trace and follow, what worried Harula was the constant screams of a little girl.
She stopped at a small clearing nearby a crystal clear lake, a little girl no older than the age of eight surrounded by 3 armed men. All wearing the same, black attire.
She edged towards them.
"Where is she? The girl that lives in your neighborhood, where does she live?" A man shouted furiously but had a hint of desperation in his voice.
"Come on! Spit it out, I've seen you speaking to her before, now tell us where she lives!"
Flashback
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Are you lost?"
She asked, looking at a little girl with dark purple hair. She looked at Haruka with wide puffy eyes, rimmed with bright red.
She scrambled up to her and clutched onto Haruka, sobbing into her white button-up shirt, pulling herself tighter into her lower chest. Nodding slightly.
"Come on, let's go find your home." The girl looked up at the spirit.
"Really?" She squeaked as she now clung onto her black trousers, voice broken.
She gave her a warm smile.
"Really."
End of flashback
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The realization hit her hard as she figured out it was the little girl she had found on the streets a few weeks back.
One of the men was about to give a hard blow to her head, Haruka dashed over at lightning speed and grabbed the man's arm before he could harm the little girl anymore.
"Hasn't anyone ever told you that you're not allowed to hit little girls yet? Or is that tiny brain in that thick skull of yours unable to think properly anymore? " She huffed, giving him a death glare that dared him to hit the little girl again. He wrenched himself from her tight grip and called his other mates over.
"Run girl, run back home now. I'll be fine, just GO!" She said, voice rising towards the end of her sentence. The girl dashed out of the woods, giving Haruka one last look before disappearing.
She wasn't sure if she just hid.
At least she was out of sight.
"Looks like a mouse made us lose our prey." He snickered. "Oh well, we've got what we want now." A man sneered, a murderous glint in his eye.
He lunged at me but she crouched and easily dodged, grabbing hold of his thick arms and smashing him into a tree nearby. He then limped away.
Ouch.
A second man retrieved a large gun and tried to shoot her, but she ducked and kicked the gun right out of his hand. Catching it and hitting him in the temple with it.
The third man however was holding something limp and supposedly unconscious, purple hair bobbing up and down.
It was the little girl.
"Hand yourself over and the little runt lives." He said, smirking as if he's already won.
She slowly walked up to him, gun concealed behind her back.
BANG
The man fell to his knees, she threw the gun right at his head. Making his eyes roll back into his head and topple over helplessly onto the dead leaves and roots below.
She sighed as she bent down and scooped up the little girl, light in her arms.
That's when she heard it. A second bang.
One of the men was holding a large rifle in his hands, a large gaping hole in the left side of her stomach.
But she did not fall, instead, she carried on walking. Haruka looked at him directly in the eye, he screamed and retreated into the thick bushes. The sound girly and too high for what his looks suggested.
The girl slowly regained her consciousness, a simple spell cast over her. Haruka smiled at her and told her that everything was taken care of, she simply nodded and left, not seeing the puncture in her torso.
It was a small iron bullet, tiny but effective on anything and anyone, spirits included. The girl sighed and pressed her hand against the open wound, hissing slightly at the sudden pain yet sighing at the pressure.
The same stocky man who she threw the gun at only pretended to lose his consciousness, he regained his footing and suddenly sprang at her. Her ears alerting her far too late.
She was tackled to the ground, the man throwing a series of punches into her stomach. Her once crisp white shirt was now soaked in blood, and she was sure that she would have massive bruises. Large and black.
Haruka kicked the man in the unmentionable part, making him shout in pain. She grabbed a nearby flat stone and hit him in the head, knocking him out for sure this time. Man, these men just don't know when to give up.
She tried to pick herself up, slowly.
Instead, she collapsed and tumbled down a small slope, even so, it made the pain in her body was almost unbearable. Her hand fell helplessly into the cool and soothing river, her vision going blurry.
Then the light faded away.
