You rolled the bottle of the cure over in your hands. A clear liquid. If you did not know better, you would think it was water. You sighed, flopping down on the bed. Overhaul had said it himself, even if you gave Deku the cure, it had a chance of not working, or even killing him. But if you did not give it to him, he would probably kill you at the duel. What could you do to escape this? Did you really even love Izuku in the first place? Or did you love the passionate Deku that Dabi had made with his drug? Dabi's words echoed over you in your mind. "Whoever you choose, you'll be choosing me."
A loud knock on your door made you drop the bottle, but you caught it before it shattered on the floor. Quickly, you hid it under your pillow. "Come in," you called. It was Dabi, looking at you with a worried expression. He had been avoiding you since that day that you had yelled at him. "Why are you here? I thought you were giving me some space," you snorted. "I heard how you said you were going to fight him. Do you really think you can win? Even if you are more skilled than him, he seems to... honestly, it almost seems like he possesses multiple quirks. And I... I don't want to loose you," he said as he had a pained smile on his face. He laughed a little. "It sounded better in my head. Out loud, it sounded stupid." He looked away from you. You took his hands in your own.
"To be perfectly honest, I'm not so sure that I can beat him. Anyway, it's nice to have company." "You mean, you're not mad at me?" He rubbed his fingers against your hand. You sighed. "I'm just confused. You were supposed to be my best friend. And Izuku...Deku... he was supposed to love me." Tears pricked at your eyes. "Why did you have to go mess up my life? Things were perfect until you messed with Izuku." He held your hands firmly, looking into your eyes. "The second I saw you, you messed up my life too. You were freaking so cute. All I wanted was for you to love me back. I was jealous of you and Izuku. I couldn't bear the thought of someone else with you. I... don't admit my faults often, but what I did to that innocent boy... it was wrong. I hope you can forgive me."
You get up and hug him. He gently hugs you back. "I do forgive you. I know how rough of a life you've had Dabi. And I think, secretly, deep down inside, I always loved you too." You gently press your lips to his. He passionately kisses back. He looks at you with warmth. "Let's go. Start a new life somewhere else. I know you never wanted this life. We can be different people. We can be free from Deku's avarice for power. Please. Just come with me." He held out his hand. You took it. You grabbed a bag of cash. "Let's blow this joint." The two of you started walking away from the building. It was thundering and raining. The weather never quite matched your emotions, did it? The door did not make a shutting sound for some reason. You glanced back at the place you had called home. Deku stood there in the rain, holding the door, his eyes smoldering. "Good riddance, (Y/N). Too scared to battle me?" His words were quiet, made for only you and him. Dabi could not have heard him through the rain and thunder. Dabi turned back. "What's wrong, Dove? Having second thoughts?"
"No." You said it with certainty. The two of you ran away from the hideout in the pouring rain, holding hands. Whatever happened next, you would face it together.
