Dinah took a sip of her Diet Coke, loving the feel of the breeze hitting her legs as she sunbathed on the lounge chair. Dario sat beside her, taking a swig of his beer as well. They both had the sense to bring drinks with them as they relaxed near the pool area. Dinah treasured this day, these moments with Dario where she can see him face-to-face instead of texting. She knew he still needed to get his life together, and then they could be a couple. He implied it as much in the pool, after he said he was moving on with his life and kissed her. She predicted that by the middle of this year, they would be boyfriend and girlfriend. She always imagined what it would be like to meet his parents, his friends, his family, and move into his house. She would be the girlfriend that he should have had, should have picked. She would show him how much better she was, how much less of a hassle and worry his life would be when you had a down-to-Earth, simple girl as a life partner.
"So, you said you watched the sixth Harry Potter movie?" she asked. Dario had been messaging her how he started watching all the Harry Potter movies when there was nothing to do at his old job. He talked about how his sisters love Harry Potter, read all the books, but he wasn't interested until he started watching the first one and kind of got what all the fuss was about.
Dinah secretly wanted to meet his sisters, since they seemed to have so much in common. All in good time.
"Yeah, it was pretty good. I knew before that the old wizard, Dumbledore, right? Would die," he said.
Dinah laid on her side, facing him. "Imagine if you were eleven years old, and you went to Hogwarts, and you had to get sorted into a house. What house do you think you'd be in?"
He pursed his lips and was lost in thought for a moment. "Probably Slytherin."
Dinah raised her eyebrows, genuinely surprised. "Really? Why Slytherin? They're the bad guys."
" Yeah, but I'm thinking of how I was like when I was eleven. I didn't really think about other people. I just thought about myself and how I can use people to get what I want."
Dinah shifted in her seat, throwing her legs over the lounge chair until she was standing up. "Wow, that's messed up."
"I know. I was immature and stupid. Thank God I'm not like that anymore. I've grown up since then."
"Yep," Dinah didn't know what to say, honestly. That answer was a bit surprising to her, but at least he admitted that he wasn't perfect, and was willing to share that with her.
"What house would you be sorted into?" he asked.
She lifted her shoulders and smiled sheepishly. "The complete opposite- Hufflepuff. I actually took one of those online tests years ago."
"Hufflepuff? What are their qualities?"
" Not alot of the main characters are Hufflepuffs, except the kid that dies in the Tri-wizard Tournament- Cedric Diggory. But Hufflepuffs are known to be kind, loyal, and show empathy to others."
Dario laughed. "Yeah, the total opposite of Slytherin." He stood up in his seat as well and faced Dinah. " Those are good qualities to have," he said seriously.
Dinah moved closer. "Thank you."
An hour later, Dinah unlocked the door to her apartment with Dario carrying his things right behind her.
"You can leave your bag on the table," she said as she locked the door behind her.
He dropped the bag and grabbed her arms. She turned to face him and before she could say anything, he kissed her.
That's when the magic began. Dinah wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. His hands traveled down her back until her grabbed her behind. She was so hot, so turned on by him that she didn't object. He held on to it and squeezed tightly. She broke the kiss briefly and let out a groan.
