I woke up to arms wrapped securely around my waist. I forgot where I was for a split second but then relaxed and closed my eyes. I looked over to see Michael's sleeping figure. I smiled and moved his fringe out of his eyes. I closed my eyes again and sighed. I reopened them and craned my neck to check the time.
5:55
I still had about an hour before I had to wake Michael up for school. Sighing, I untangled our legs and slid out of his grasp. I stretched then made my way downstairs to get my uniform from the laundry room. After that I went in the bathroom and set the clothes on the toilet. I looked at myself in the mirror and frowned. I had bags under my that were still puffy from crying. Mascara and tear stains present on my cheeks. My lips all chapped and cracked. Overall, I look like a mess. Shaking my head, I jumped in the shower and continued thinking. My outside appearance matches the way way I feel though. I feel like a mess. I'm so confused about everything. It all happened so fast last night. One minute we're walking to his truck, then in the split of a second, he's confessing his misery while in hysterics. Not to mention my breakdown. Everything is just so screwed up. This shouldn't be happening. I shouldn't be ere. We shouldn't be with each other. It's all to much for the both of us. It feels so wrong but at the same time it feels so right. We're miserable with each other, but we're even more miserable without one another.
After I was done in the shower I went in the kitchen to get something to eat. I opened his fridge and saw there was only milk, beer and some cheese. I sighed and looked in the cabinet for cereal. I smiled when I seen a box of Trix. I tried reaching up and grabbing the box of cereal but failed miserably. I hopped on the counter and grabbed the box from the cabinet, smiling in satisfaction. As I was stepping down, I lost my balance and squealed as I waited for the impact. It never came though. Instead I felt the soft embrace of arms. I opened my eyes and smiled at Michael who was smiling at me too.
"I feel like this has happened before." He said with a smile. Smiling at them memory of me falling off the counter from the same reason of me trying to get cereal in which Michael caught me before I actually fell. "I told you I'd catch you if you fall." He said with a small smile. I smiled and wiggled letting him know I wanted to get down. He set me down and grabbed the Trix I was trying to get. I took them from him then made myself a bowl. I sat down and started eating. I picked up my phone from beside me and seen I had multiple texts from Luke and Collin. Collin was just asking where I was and when I was coming home. I told him I was out and I'll seen him in school. Luke was asking what happened when we left and a whole bunch of other questions related to that. I told him about last night and set my phone down.
"Why are you up so early?" I asked Michael. He looked up from his phone finished chewing his food.
"I wanted to wake up before you so I could, uh, make sure you didn't but when I woke up you weren't there so I got up and ran down here and seen you on the counter and you know the rest." He said with red cheeks.
"I told you I wouldn't leave Mikey." I said to the red head boy.
"I know I just can't help but be afraid ya know? I just got you back, I can't let you get away again. It'll hurt to damn much and if hurt that much last time I can't imagine how it'll feel if it happened again." He said with a frown. I stood up from my seat and walked over to him. I bent down and kissed his cheek and grabbed his hand in mine.
